Uncharted is fun. It's a pretty decent TPS/platformer. I'd own a copy if I could find it for under 40 bucks. RE5's also good...not as good as 4, but still good.

Regarding Prototype's power selection; only certain things are useless in certain situations. Claws and whip are useless against tanks...that's about it. The lickers hunters are tough but I've fought them bare-fisted before just to show them what little bitches they are compared to my fly elite skills, yo.

If I did name my PS3, I'm almost certain I named it awPS3.

If you're gonna get Disgaea 3, I highly recommend getting Disgaea 1 and 2 first. Disgaea 1's gameplay's a bit inferior, but it has the best cast of characters/voice acting (and to a somewhat lesser emphasis, story) I've ever witnessed.

Amazon sent me an e-flyer saying "pre-order Uncharted 2 now for only 69.99 it comes out September some time" 70 bucks are you kidding me? I paid 70+tax for RE5 because I was an idiot I'm not doin' that again.

I'll take your word for it then ^_^ I've always wanted to get into this series because I've heard many good things about it, plus the characters look fun, I really think that it's a game that I could get into.

So I'm enjoying RE5 apart from the fact that the AI doesn't seem to know how to use any other weapon apart from the pistol.
Amored Core is Amored Core...not a lot to say about it besides pew pew~
I have yet to play Ninja Gaiden Sigma but assuming it's the same as Ninja Gaiden Black (which I owned...twice) it should be fine.

Gamestop is selling a used copy of Uncharted for $40 (USD) and a New for $50 D:

Is it THAT worth using up ALL of my money on a game that was sold on(around) the release of the PS3 & imo should be a greatest hit (w/e they call them) by now. Maybe I can just wait.

My brother recently got a PS3 and Killzone 2, but I'm not into the FPS games, so I ignored him and got Enchanted Arms and Disgaea 3 (hey, Gamestop's Buy 2 used games Get 1 free sale got me Enchanted Arms for free, and I'm having more fun with it than I thought). I don't regret the PS3 now.

Prototype is an okay game. My younger brother who's 12 and my older friend who's 19 and 21 enjoy the game a lot. I see it as a game that crosses over with Grand Theft Auto and Spiderman... well more Grand Theft Auto but instead of stealing cars you're stealing looks. I don't really like the game myself and the story is semi okay.. but you might think differently, it's just a bit to repetitive for my liking. I'll try to add more to this later on when I've played the game a bit more. I guess it's worth checking out, but buying.. I'm not sure.

Good enough for me!

I never thought Ghostbusters would be so hard. Man. Not the single player mode so much, but online, man. Survival is really hard to...survive, and Protection is really hard to...protect in and Containment? Seriously? Is that BEATABLE? I mean, you don't HAVE to "beat" the job, but you have to for some of the trophies. Ugh.

The way I see it is it's like Kingdom Hearts but a lot more fun. The storyline seems to be a bit weird seeing as you're kinda thrown into a situation but I really enjoy it because the game isn't clear cut. You have the choice of playing as the Heroine - Ellen or the Hero - Keats. Either one follows different paths but are searching for the same thing. Whilst I was playing it I thought Ellen was following the good side and so was Keats but I'm about half way through and it seems one of them is being used. I'm not exactly sure.. in fact I can't really predict anything in this damn game Dx but that might just be me.

Anyway the fighting system I find to be rather fun, you fight Folks which are monsters pretty much and then you can absorb them. Once absorbed you can reuse the monsters to fight for you. Rest assured they can't die and you can use them a numerous amount of times in battle. I think the battle that I enjoyed the most was in the second world when you get to Warcadia. You absorb all these mechanical folks, i went to fight the Folklore whom is the boss and it was like a warzone! i was calling in like air bombers, setting up landmines, giant tanks shooting shells at the boss and land troops charging forward. It's a really fun game and like I told my friend.. no games so far have been able to hook me, yet this one has.

So it's worth a try I think :]

I had some fun with the Folklore playable demo, $20 is good (what is that, like $10 USD?), but I suggest waiting for it, get it when you have nothing else to buy, I know, it may be bought before that, so yeah, download the demo, it's 10 minutes including installation with a decent connection, and the demo lasts about 5-15 minutes depending on how fast you plan on completing it. after that, you should be able to choose

PS. IGN review says it's a recommendation for all PS3 owners, but I'm not gonna get it :P

Well, I'm a huge KH fan, and I might as well download the demo to give it a spin.

EDIT: Played the first half of the first demo and it was kind of interesting. If I do see that 20 dollar copy I'll likely be picking it up.

So I tried Folklore. Better than KHII my ass!

I'm seriously considering getting Prototype soon. Maybe. How hard are the trophies, awp? I noticed you have, like, almost all of them. You have most of the ones I was worried about, too, like beating the game without dying, less than 10 consumes or whatever, 50 kills in 5 seconds, Plat in all events, stuff like that.

Well, you'll have an easier time than me if you use this map when getting the collectibles. The only time I didn't enjoy playing Prototype was finding the last Landmark, which took me around two hours to find, because I didn't know which one I didn't have. So use that map. Everything else's not too bad. The game autosaves so when going for the no-dying one, beat the game on Normal first, then go for it on Easy+ and create a backup or something I guess. I didn't have any trouble with any of them, but fuuuuuuck that last landmark was time consuming.

Also the kill 53k infected was not nearly that time consuming.

Some people found the Plat in all events one tricky, but idk apart from a couple running ones and that one whipfist kill they were pretty easy. This'll be the first plat trophy I get, since the one trophy I need for RE5's plat is beat the game on Professional, and with AI it's a biiiiiiiiitch.

Yeah, Pro is impossible with AI. Although it's probably better to do 2-3 with AI. Ridiculous aim. Is there an in-game way to see where the landmarks are at all? In inFamous, there were 350 blast shards I had to find, but you could press R3 and see if any were in the immediate area. It took me 2-3 days to finally scour the entire map, and even then I still didn't have all of them. There were 2 that wouldn't show up on your in-game radar cause they were too far out in the water/too high up.

I didn't think Prototype would have so many collectibles. I like collectibles. Once I get the Ghostbusters Plat, I'll need something to play until August.

Edit: Not that Prototype will last THAT long, but still. I'll need something. I'm low on dough though, so I can't let Prototype suck me dry before Arkham comes out cause I want that. I still need to get the RE5/GTA online trophies, too...

KH2FM+ was even better than KH2, I think. The post-final boss was tough as hell for me the first 5 or so times. Luck, luck, luck.

Platinum get.

When playing on Hard I had to use the whipfist (tentacle rape) for almost every boss fight because shit does so much damage to you in close-quarters combat. Alas, victory, and a good 40+ hours spent easily. All that's left to do is fuck around for the sheer enjoyment of it. I really wish it was possible to set someone down after picking them up though so I could field goal some poor schmuck off a skyscraper. Ah well, there's always a faceplant from four hundred feet in the air.

Well Alone might be tough and need infinite ammo, but . . . I beat RE5 on professional about 2 weeks ago ^o^ with my
brother/ no infinite ammo/ not Alone


and I doubt awp would have to use infinite rockets, since "Ohhhhhh yeah, I'm good".

Beating Professional alone isn't that hard at all. It's a bit frustrating but not because of the AI. XD

Anyway, I only took me about 24 Hours to get Platinum. :P

I've only beaten the game on Vet and I don't have a brother, I can do that alone, sure.
Pro is very tough alone and I don't have most of the infinite ammo, I had a friend over to play pro for some time, haven't completed it yet.

I think it's more of a challenge to keep infinite ammo off, unlike John, he turns it on and checks GameFAQs. I found a printed copy of the locations of the targets, that punk. He's always trying to get my trophies (btw, my username/PSN account is closed and private, only for irl friends)

Also, I believe EEeee can beat Proffesional, it is very possible that if he stocks up ammo from other difficulties and/or upgrade the very best of weapons (which I am very lazy to do), it should be like having infinite ammo. But that's just for people who have nothing else to play and replay the levels 0_0

You are both (eee and awp) under the assumption that I was talking about ammo amounts. That's not even a problem. I have more ammo than I know what to do with. It's just the whole "having ammo in my inventory at all times for each gun" thing that sucks. For every gun, I have to dedicate a slot to the ammo, then another slot is for my vest, which kinda isn't that necessary in Pro since you die in one hit anyway, but still. So it's like, yeah, I could waste slots on ammo and do it the right way, but I'd rather not. It was more fun without the ammo.

I used body armour for a little bit. You don't die in one hit from standard arrows/some melee attacks, but after a certain point (stage 4-1+ or so) it's just dead weight.

Yeah. Not useless, but not necessary. Bulletproof vest was worthwhile though. Guns weren't that harmful at all (and it's actually kinda stupid that getting hit with a glass bottle hurts more than a burst of bullets to the chest).

Yeah I got it, My favorite so far: Ragna, Jin and Haku-men. Story mode could take a while to get 100%.
About Folklore, I beat it, it was good, but it is hardly got RPG elements, I don't think you can compare it to KH.

Well, I got Midboss, Mao and Flonne caught up with Adell. I've been power-training Flonne's healing capabilities and atm she can dish out about 55 million damage in one cast, but her equipment is severely under-quality. Since item duping was made much more difficult, I'll have to resort to giving her a fist weapon to boost her base stats by around 3000% (for Adell, other aptitudes considered, this increased his attack power stat from 200,000 to 4,500,000; with a little persistence I can achieve a similar or better result with Flonne's RES stat).

Unfortunately, Healing Magic's gimped for isolated damage and it's going to be tough to get Flonne into the billions.

I finally got Resident Evil 5. After debating this for some time as to whether to play it or not I thought what the heck, I wana pwn some mother fockers. >D

It's pretty fun, I'm just at the beginning ~ Chris and Sheva are sexay ;D I love a chic that can handle a gun and if you take that the wrong way shame on you. But srsly. Chics that can handle weapons, total win!


I have yet to get my hands on Blazblue </3 I'm not happy. I love Guilty Gear so I need this game! ~also I need to get my ps3 hooked up again, so I haven't been on PSN probably won't be for a good few days.

Bayonetta was made by the team who made DMC 1-3, if I'm not mistaken? I was playing DMC4 today, and while it was apparently made by different people, the feel's the exact same. I quite enjoy it, but while Bayonetta looks like more action-y goodness, something about the look of it fails to draw me in. Maybe I'm just expecting the plot to be too boring or the characters to be too uninteresting.

Also, played Ghostbusters demo. Quite interesting, though I can tell it's one of those games you'll only run through enough times to unlock everything.

Ahhhh Gunstar Heroes for 5 bucks on PSN with online scoreboards and multiplayer sweeeet everyone should download a rom of this game (Genesis emulator) to give it a try and then buy it on PSN so we can play online it is a good game (one of Genesis' finest).

Trophies are horribly unimaginative though (beat the game == 95% of the trophies earned).

Still, this game rules.

The creator dude said something like "the sexier she gets, the more dangerous she is" or something. Her clothing is made of hair. The summons are made of her hair. Thus, she needs to shed the clothes to summon the giant fucking dragon head. Also, she fucking flipped a giant dragon over her head. And she fought a chick who was riding a motorcycle while the were on the wing of a gunship. WHAT THE FUCK MORE DO YOU WANT?! I mean, holy shit. Talk about high standards.

As for an FPS, do you already have Resistance 2? Pretty much all you need.

lolling at the irony of the Prototype debate

for FPSs, the Half Life series (or go straight into HL2 and Orange Box if you're not into the "retro" feel) is great. Barring that, BioShock was really good. In fact, BioShock is probably the only FPS I've really enjoyed since HL2. Painkiller is good for senseless fun, but it doesn't draw me in like BioShock did.

Maybe its good for me, I just beat the main story and stopped, was also playing Tales of Vesperia at the same time, if there is an english release for vesperia on the ps3 I would get it.

lolling at the irony of the Prototype debate

for FPSs, the Half Life series (or go straight into HL2 and Orange Box if you're not into the "retro" feel) is great. Barring that, BioShock was really good. In fact, BioShock is probably the only FPS I've really enjoyed since HL2. Painkiller is good for senseless fun, but it doesn't draw me in like BioShock did.
Well, I'm getting Prototype once I can play PS3 regularly again. That thought crossed through my mind when I said that, too, and the previous sentence was my excuse.

Edit: It's down to $50 new now and I got a $25 Gamestop gift card for my birthday, so the second the PS3 is up, I'll get it online.

That one dude will take pictures of you whether you're good or bad. I like the good path a little better since you can recharge your energy with each successful hit and stuff. Makes the junk titans ridiculously easy.

And a matter of time it was. Baal pirates took four fuckin' hours to find? Oi...Still, that's the best platinum trophy I'll ever accomplish. 6 Land of Carnage Tyrant Baals at once? Luck + Strategy + Massive Preparation for the win.

I only have these games: LBP, HL2:TOB, Bioshock, POP, R&C (Future and QFB) and GTA IV.

Also, I was wondering, should I get Marvel vs capcom 2? I've been playing the demo over and over again, and its pretty cool just like the old days :D

I got kinda pissed because I went online, confirmed the purchase of Prototype, then a few minutes later, I opened up my new Game Informer and saw Prototype in there and they gave it a 7.25 and called it super bland and stuff. It's weird though, cause it looked like the only thing that was sorta meh was the combat, the tank mini-game, monsters breaking your combo a bunch, uninteresting story, and copying Spider-man too much. Doesn't sound THAT bad.

Prototype is fucking fun if you like playing around in the game environment for the fun of it and accomplishing nothing. I think half of the trick is not to treat it as a game, but more of a playground? Most of the controls are so fluid that you can sprint down a street, do a front flip over a car, grab the car as you hit the 180 mark, and toss the car into other cars/people/nature/whatever else before landing on your feet again. Grab somebody by the collar, and hurl them into a sign post to see how many pieces they end up in. Ghost-ride a helicopter into an intersection.

It's a great game if you like screwing around.
