Yeah, though dying can be pretty frustrating (and sudden), it's as if the developers acknowledged this and decided not to piss the player off further so they made the penalty for death mild.

If I ever see this game in a pawn shop or something for ~35 bucks I'm gonna snatch it up, since it's still actually good. It probably runs for 60 or 70 right now and after RE5 I said fuck high prices.

Almost done with The Warren as a Hero. I've been getting as many blast shards as I can. I wish there was a counter or something, cause it's gonna be really hard to get 100% if I don't know where to look. Also, I might've missed 5 permanently. I dunno if the mission shards count. One of the karmic choices was between saving some chick's brother or getting blast shards and I saved the bro and wasn't able to get the shards. Oh well.

I just got all the blast shards. The mission ones don't count towards your total. I just beat the game as a Hero, too. Working on a Hard inFamous run. Also, getting 100 High Falls is annoying.

PROTOTYPE is almost identical to inFamous in theory, but the execution looks way better.

A friend of mine beat Bionic Commando, he says unless you like gliding you won't enjoy the game much.

So I beat inFamous again and I can say that the only thing about the ending that changes is the short epilogue after the credits, but it is quite different indeed. Also, the black/red lightning IS pretty bitchin'. Damn. Anyway, got the plat, so back to GTAIV to get some online trophies.

God of War's got a more traditional combo system than that of Devil May Cry - and in that it's more traditional, it's easier to understand. I just like bashing a door into a guy's face a dozen times, then kicking the door in with the guy's head still between the doors. That's just really hard to beat.

What I like in Onimusha and Devil May Cry, The lock-on and dodge system, the simple three directions roll that cancels the current attack, using single button to perform different combos with direction input for different attacks. No auto lock-on so you hit exactly where you mean to attack, and the attacks always come out the same, unlike Kratos dance with the twin swords and chains, one attack close range and next is a long shot and the one after it is a little less in range but wide AoE and next whoops switched target so the guy with 1HP gets annoying and hit you while you randomly hit the others.

Don't you hold a button to engage lock-on? I think that's how I had it set up.

Uncharted 2 beta is pretty sweet. I've only tried the co-op mission so far, but that was really cool. The matchmaking system is pretty nice and the gameplay is fucking slick for a game that doesn't come out until Fall. Quite challenging, too. The first match just had me and another guy and we got our asses kicked, but the second time had the proper group of three and we dominated, albeit with a few close calls.

Is it really? Who knew throw shit away could be so hard? I did read about some biodegradable stuff and crushing objects with bigger objects and stuff like that. I guess that would be hard.

I just borrowed uncharted from a friend, I just hate the huge amount of enemies spawning from everywhere. And its hard to headshot/hit the badies.

Uh, those two things sound really awesome. I enjoy a good challenge that actually require some semblance of skill to complete. It's worse in that Uncharted 2 co-op beta thing. Those guys come in groups in front of you, behind you, and occasionally right behind you, followed by them putting you in a headlock like little pricks. It's pretty intense. And I never had a problem with headshots...

Dude, it's really hard to explain. It's like Nintendogs with a ton of physics engines and you control that kid and it's an adventure game and instead of a dog, it's a dog/cat/eagle thing called Trico. Or something.

Edit: The trailer had a lot of gameplay elements in it, but you might not have known that they were important, like throwing barrels into its mouth and stuff. I wanna see how you're supposed to keep Trico from running away when you want it to sit still...

I've been looking forward to "The Last Guardian" ever since they said Team ICO was making a game for the PS3. It was said at last years "eee" or GDC, or maybe a couple months after the release of the system, idk.
The game looks awesome, I enjoyed Ico, and SotC was even cooler, haven't played it in a while though, I played through both twice.

I got Prototype today. It's very, very fun. Excellent sandboxing. The free-roam is much more fun than it was in infamous imo.

I'm not so into the whole melee thing. I liked inFamous for shooting and platforming. Also, FUCKING LIGHTNING. Still, it was good at best. Prototype is like...I can't get into it. I like the movement and how he can almost fly and shit, but...whatever. Melee. Seriously. He's got about 50 ways to hit something with his hand. I don't see the difference or why he can't just have one way to hit everything. At least the whip has some range. That's a sensible power. Oh, and you HAVE to be evil, which kinda sucks. I don't want to be evil most of the time. Well, he's not even evil. He's just a giant emo dick. The only fun I could see myself having with that is just...free roaming. Cause that does look really fun.

I've seen the gunplay and it's pretty terrible. So basic. Probably cause they don't want you to use them, like in Mirror's Edge. It'd have been cool if you could just hold your hand out and shoot tiny shards of yourself at other people, then replenish your "ammo" by consuming. That sounds so cool just describing it that I don't know why they didn't put that in the game. That'd have been sweeeet. Instead they just put in claws and blades and a club. I don't like how they've got that whole "this power for that purpose" thing going on. Why can't you just unlock powers and do what you want with them? Sure, I unlocked this thing that would make fighting that easier, but what if I want to use my claws? Can you do that? You probably could, but it'd be stupid and take forever. So ok, how about the opposite way. I could use my club to crush those puny soldiers, right? Probably, but it'd just be faster to take out the whip/claws. At least in inFamous, when you unlocked a power, it wasn't for any one purpose. You got your powers, then you did what you wanted with them.

I do agree that inFamous is repetitive. The game wasn't as epic as I was hoping it'd be. Zipping around on the power lines and jumping from rooftop to rooftop was kinda cool. Standard movement isn't as fun as Prototype's since you're still mostly human in inFamous.

From what I understand about the plot of Prototype, isn't it Alex Mercer going around trying to find out what they did to him and "who he is" and get revenge for some...reason. And to complete this task, he must go around and kill thousands of innocent lives so he can, you know, be a dick. "Yeah, you guys gave me ridiculously awesome powers and made me super awesome and stuff, but I didn't ask you to, so I'm going to kill you and about half of Manhattan now." I mean, really? Really? Oh, and he has amnesia or whatever. So instead of cutting himself, he cuts other people. In half. Frequently.

If you want a good "karma" system, get Alpha Protocol. Also, it's a modern-day, 3rd person shooter spy RPG. Seriously, get that. They should've just called it "awp's Game". Oh, and those decisions aren't black and white and they actually affect the gameplay and story and your character development and everything. I can't wait for that one.

The only thing that you get in Penny Arcades is that you get to keep your character, sorta. I think they kinda messed him up when I started the 2nd episode, but he was close enough... So yeah, that's basically it.

Uncharted is fun. It's a pretty decent TPS/platformer. I'd own a copy if I could find it for under 40 bucks. RE5's also good...not as good as 4, but still good.

Regarding Prototype's power selection; only certain things are useless in certain situations. Claws and whip are useless against tanks...that's about it. The lickers hunters are tough but I've fought them bare-fisted before just to show them what little bitches they are compared to my fly elite skills, yo.

Prototype is an okay game. My younger brother who's 12 and my older friend who's 19 and 21 enjoy the game a lot. I see it as a game that crosses over with Grand Theft Auto and Spiderman... well more Grand Theft Auto but instead of stealing cars you're stealing looks. I don't really like the game myself and the story is semi okay.. but you might think differently, it's just a bit to repetitive for my liking. I never thought Ghostbusters would be so hard. Man. Not the single player mode so much, but online, man. Survival is really hard to...survive, and Protection is really hard to...protect in and Containment? Seriously? Is that BEATABLE? I mean, you don't HAVE to "beat" the job, but you have to for some of the trophies. Ugh.

I'm also playing Folklore now, I thought the game would be a drag but it's quite addicting 8D

The way I see it is it's like Kingdom Hearts but a lot more fun. The storyline seems to be a bit weird seeing as you're kinda thrown into a situation but I really enjoy it because the game isn't clear cut. You have the choice of playing as the Heroine - Ellen or the Hero - Keats. Either one follows different paths but are searching for the same thing. Whilst I was playing it I thought Ellen was following the good side and so was Keats but I'm about half way through and it seems one of them is being used. I'm not exactly sure.. in fact I can't really predict anything in this damn game Dx but that might just be me.

Anyway the fighting system I find to be rather fun, you fight Folks which are monsters pretty much and then you can absorb them. Once absorbed you can reuse the monsters to fight for you. Rest assured they can't die and you can use them a numerous amount of times in battle. I think the battle that I enjoyed the most was in the second world when you get to Warcadia. You absorb all these mechanical folks, i went to fight the Folklore whom is the boss and it was like a warzone! i was calling in like air bombers, setting up landmines, giant tanks shooting shells at the boss and land troops charging forward. It's a really fun game and like I told my friend.. no games so far have been able to hook me, yet this one has.

So it's worth a try I think :]

I had some fun with the Folklore playable demo, $20 is good (what is that, like $10 USD?), but I suggest waiting for it, get it when you have nothing else to buy, I know, it may be bought before that, so yeah, download the demo, it's 10 minutes including installation with a decent connection, and the demo lasts about 5-15 minutes depending on how fast you plan on completing it. after that, you should be able to choose

PS. IGN review says it's a recommendation for all PS3 owners, but I'm not gonna get it :P

EDIT: Played the first half of the first demo and it was kind of interesting. If I do see that 20 dollar copy I'll likely be picking it up.

I'm seriously considering getting Prototype soon. Maybe. How hard are the trophies, awp? I noticed you have, like, almost all of them. You have most of the ones I was worried about, too, like beating the game without dying, less than 10 consumes or whatever, 50 kills in 5 seconds, Plat in all events, stuff like that.

Well, you'll have an easier time than me if you use this map when getting the collectibles. The only time I didn't enjoy playing Prototype was finding the last Landmark, which took me around two hours to find, because I didn't know which one I didn't have. So use that map. Everything else's not too bad. The game autosaves so when going for the no-dying one, beat the game on Normal first, then go for it on Easy+ and create a backup or something I guess. I didn't have any trouble with any of them, but fuuuuuuck that last landmark was time consuming.

Also the kill 53k infected was not nearly that time consuming.

Some people found the Plat in all events one tricky, but idk apart from a couple running ones and that one whipfist kill they were pretty easy. This'll be the first plat trophy I get, since the one trophy I need for RE5's plat is beat the game on Professional, and with AI it's a biiiiiiiiitch.

Yeah, Pro is impossible with AI. Although it's probably better to do 2-3 with AI. Ridiculous aim. Is there an in-game way to see where the landmarks are at all? In inFamous, there were 350 blast shards I had to find, but you could press R3 and see if any were in the immediate area. It took me 2-3 days to finally scour the entire map, and even then I still didn't have all of them. There were 2 that wouldn't show up on your in-game radar cause they were too far out in the water/too high up.

I didn't think Prototype would have so many collectibles. I like collectibles. Once I get the Ghostbusters Plat, I'll need something to play until August.

Edit: Not that Prototype will last THAT long, but still. I'll need something. I'm low on dough though, so I can't let Prototype suck me dry before Arkham comes out cause I want that. I still need to get the RE5/GTA online trophies, too...

KH2FM+ was even better than KH2, I think. The post-final boss was tough as hell for me the first 5 or so times. Luck, luck, luck.

When playing on Hard I had to use the whipfist (tentacle rape) for almost every boss fight because shit does so much damage to you in close-quarters combat. Alas, victory, and a good 40+ hours spent easily. All that's left to do is fuck around for the sheer enjoyment of it. I really wish it was possible to set someone down after picking them up though so I could field goal some poor schmuck off a skyscraper. Ah well, there's always a faceplant from four hundred feet in the air.

I beat RE5 on Professional today. Alone. With the dumb as paint "shoot the enemy rather than revive the ally and survive" AI.
