Wow, that is old school!

Old taiko engine FTW! Not even the previous generation hitbursts/effects, but the really old ones.

Where can one even find the 5th machine anymore? Also, donderful is on AC machine 6 too. Then the game changes to the new engine in 7.
I dunno, it's probably an old video.

Also: Seems that some muzukashii maps of the day are now oni maps. Like I found a video of this day's oni kagekiyo but on AC5 it is a muzukashii map!! o3o
O_O.
I know a few maps whose Muzukashii and Oni are the same maps(Ridge Racer, Dragon Spirit Medley), and a few others with Oni downgraded to Muzukashii and a new Oni map made(Classic Medley: Rock), but....wow.

Apparently the chinese wikipedia entry for TnT is more detailed than the english one.Hurrr.
Right below "同譜面" are songs which have the same map for Muzukashii and Oni (till the latest version, and those in Taiko 1),
the same map for Kantan and Futsuu, and songs who originally had the same map for muzukashii and oni,but had different maps now.

Search for songs
Look for taiko maps
And...

What else :(

In conclusion,I wanna make taiko maps lol
And ranked? lol[sorry...]

Well I have the full version anyway - the taiko version is different entirely. (Eg. Voice comes in earlier near the end.)

I can get a good recording off flyboy next time he's online. I know he has one or can do one easily.

But for now I'll just go ahead and begin work using the full version.
Er...

I have part of Rare Hero, that is included in Taiko.
But...

Full version seems better lol
[But... can I upload this song? :(]

A..download...map? o.O
Rokodo
Yeah the PSP games have downloadable maps which you put in the PSP game save folder:

I've done it for portable version one, clicking into a menu in the game generates a link HTML file in the save game folder.
(And no, I don't have the original UMD disc, run it off memory stick.)

This takes you to the Japanese Namco website where you can download new maps for the games in the form of two files per map: a .DON and a .KAT - So for example KOIBUMI.DON and KOIBUMI.KAT can be downloaded and stored in the save folder, and are detected by the game on running it.

I can only presume the .DON holds the song as they are usually 1-4mb...ish. The .KAT file is probably a file holding the maps themselves or files that say 'this is a genuine game map, run it' in the game. I have seen a 'custom notes' map on YouTube so maybe there is a way to use this as an exploit for custom notes.
Ksndr_old
yep rare hero on psp is only downloadable, like taberuna 2000 and many other cool song

I want to ask you guys (like everytime  ) how to play the different version of taiko ranbu kaiden on DS, and in a second time how to play with the different oni version of ekiben 2000 on ds too. I mean with don and kat beat closer than each other...Im trying to find the youtube video for more explanation!!!!!!

except if someone here, understand me... :)

last question : what is go-go mode???

graciassss

Yes taberuna 2000 is good lol(really?)
But I haven't cleared this song(Oni mode) yet :(

Oh! You want to play the different version of taiko ranbu kaiden?

You should increase your rank. lol
Maybe Dai-tatsujin(大達人)?
Why? Cuz... water will be appeared if you achieve Dai-tatsujin...
It will be hard cuz you should clear Oni 9stars song...(Almost songs are Namco original...)
But cheer up. You can do it lol

I know there is no inner-Oni mode in EkiBEN2000.
[Really :(]

Finally...
Go-go time is one of taiko system(Score?)
===o===============================================
If fire appears on the o,it means go-go time started.
In go-go time, you can get X1.2 scores on each notes. lol

ps.I think my answer isn't perfect :(

It's basically getting (set) extra points per note for a designated section of the song. It's usually for the 'chorus' of each song, but these are not consistent in Japanese songs. Go-go mode usually activates only once or twice per song, I believe.
Ksndr_old
ohhh ok!!! go-go mode it's when taiko don is singing on the ryhtmics and everythong is becoming crazy and shiny!!!!
at this moment beat cost a lot of point!!!

Not exactly "singing",more like "Air-drumming".
Basically, the best way to know what Go-go time is
is to play Taiko itself.(wait,what)

Ksndr wrote:

BTW,it's not always correct.
Why? Most songs have go-go time in the last(or near?)part.
But combo(More than 100 combos are best score lol) is better than go-go time.(I think)<It sometimes doesn't right.
And if you make norma gauge(right?) full, you can also get X1.2 scores(not ballons,den-den,sweet potato)

So It's not always correct.

My opinion is finished lol

The combo score goes up every 10 hits and cap out at 100. Go-go Time multiplies the score per hit by 120%. It doesn't matter how high your combo is at the time.

And full gauge doesn't really do anything to your scores, it just means you pass the song ^^

Questions:
1. What are sweet potatoes in taiko?
2. What are the spinning dons in TnT Wii?
mattyu007
1. Sweet potatoes are notes that are like balloon notes, but are much larger, cover the entire screen and award more points.
2. Dendens were removed in Taiko Wii afaik and all dendens were replaced with fuusens (balloons)

Actually,only DS1,2(dokodon,nanatsu...) have den-den
If this note appears, you should type don-kat(repeat lol) by noted number.
In arcade,PS2,Wii,(even phone...) this note changed to balloon or sweet potato.
Edit:PSP have another note type lol(Sorry Rokodon...)

aquabluu wrote:

Sweet potatoes give out bonus points based on how fast you complete them, from 6000, down to 5000, then 1200 or 1000, or you don't finish it and get no bonus points
In go-go time
fast finished=6000 slow finished=1200

Except go-go time
fast finished=5000 slow finished=1000

I think 1P and 2P can eat(?) sweet potato together.
But it's not same score cuz of hit numbers.
[Fast finished in go-go time][Sweet potato that appears 120]
1P=50hits=360*50+6000
2P=70hits=360*70+6000
It's different from balloon note.

So...
Just eat lol<

I noticed the PSP versions have an exclusive thing like den-den too, where you swivel the analogue stick around it's axis in a circle for Wada-Don to open a door!

Also, I've been working on a taiko map set, all of the taiko difficulties are now done but I'm waiting for various mappers to submit osu! maps. It's still a WIP so keep your eyes peeled for the full resubmit.

Taiko Wii does not have Kurenai. The song you saw was probably Niji '虹' A lot of people got confused over the characters at first too.

It however does have one other song with 900+ combo, Yozakura Shanikusai '夜桜謝肉祭'

I remember mentioning this before...if we record a sound sample from the Wii, we might as well update all the sound samples with those from the Wii for consistency. Not that I can record it though :P
Rokodo
I have the Nanadaime (7th, PS2) ISO but it would be hard for me to get clean recordings... might be worth asking flyboy about it when he is back from his holiday.

It's out in KL, but still not in Penang orzzz... *goes back to play Taiko 10* I really, really can't wait to try 11 :)

Well if we're gonna use PS2 Don, someone with Nanadaime has to record the '900' sound. I took about half a year to get to grips with the Go-Go mode of Kitasaitama, and I still can't full combo it. My main problem is towards the end of the song:
'DKKDKKDDDKDDD' and 'KDDDDDKD DDDDDKDK DDDKDDD DDDKD DDDKD' I've not once cleared these 2 strings...help?

Ksndr: No need to work it out together, just go to the Edit Mode and see the beats I placed there. Or you could try this:

kita saitama 2000 is harder than rotter inner oni...only my opinion :) !!
flyboy87
Once you can hit the Go-Go notes in Kita, then the song is pretty much a pass or FC for you.
Rokodo
Kita isn't particularly hard in terms of note combinations, but the BPM is extremely high.
Same case with rotter inner oni IMO.
flyboy87
The Go-Go note combinations in Kita with the high BPM (~222) makes it difficult to hit. At around 180-200, they should not be too hard to hit.

Rotter Inner Oni on the other hand has the "I-hate-it-very-much" note combinations like Kamikaze Remix and X-DAY with a fairly high BPM (~200) and a BPM change like EkiBEN at the end.

Going to play Taiko 11 in 1/2 hours. :3

Can't even pass Kita with ps2 tatacon... I'm really not as good in real taiko as I appear to be on osu! taiko.
Partly because the tatacon is kinda sucky and partly because my grip on the sticks is rubbish as I have mucho sweat. I use tons of talcum powder to get a better grip. |3

Can I ask how flyboy gets the tatacon to stay in one place? My drums both have old style stands, one US and one JAP. Most logical thing to do would probably be to tape it to a tall structure...

Still want to try taiko AC to confirm that I fail though. Heard there IS a taiko 12 in London, probably at the Trocadero centre. Source did not give a clear location. But apparently one of the drums is busted. :'(

I used a few of those anti-slip surfaces meant for cars. :) That held my Wii tatacon in place, might work for yours too.

About the arcade, you might want to get yourself a pair of sticks, cause the ones in the arcade are damn heavy.

@AnGeIl: No, it's a new feature that was added for the arcades only(hey, they have to have something exclusive to them otherwise people would just save their money and play the home versions anyway). Unlock in Taiko 11 onwards by alternating between left and right kat. Hit 20 times, and a speech bubble with 'ハズレ?' will appear. This means you have unlocked Inner Oni.

@Rokodo: Whatever works for you, if they're robust, of suitable length, and quite light, then it's fine. Emphasis on 'robust'.
An-Don
so when you unlock inner oni then it just stays or it goes away when you are finished so another person can attempt to unlock it?

You do it at the very beginning, right after you insert your coins - hit the left kat and right kat till you see whatever aqua and I mentioned.

The Yawaraka Sensha in PS2 came first, as Taiko Tower 9 Hard mode. The notechart was then ported over to Taiko no Tatsujin 11. And there are 2 PSP Taiko games, Portable 1 and 2. Then everything after that went to Nintendo consoles.

*looks at CoroCoro magazine* Hmm...I have no idea on this, it may be a new game, but I see Ryuusei no Rockman 3 there, and that game's been out for a year.

Actually I'd love another Wii version. It can hold more songs and have crisper graphics than on the handhelds. I don't mind if it doesn't have 70 songs or more again, since most of the songs I want to play are already on the current version. But I still have a tiny wishlist :D

GLAMOROUS SKY (from Taiko 8)
Rare Hero (Taiko 8)
Takkyu de Dakkyu (Nanadaime)
Rirura Riruha (Taiko 10)
Chikuzei ~Gear Up~ (Taiko 12)
DON'T CUT (Taiko 12)
Dragon Saber (Taiko 10)
Hakuchou no Mizuumi ~still a duckling~ (Rokudaime)
Kurenai (Nanadaime)

Melt

I THINK that the best gift from bandai namco would be to introduce the inner oni mode on domestic game!!!! and an another Xtreme song (maybe from the future taiko 13) like kita or rotter...

and of course, the most important for myself and all the fan,to update the download session for PSP with rotter tarmination, carnivorous, XDAY, tenjiku, ekiben, all the namco series, the best and hardest classics (toccata y fugue to rock, fight of the bumblebee...) and many more songs....

if a taiko request section is existing for english (french) dude, I'll talk about psp download section..maybe nintendo got the taiko copyright...don't know...damn!!! it's painful... :|

Wii 2 or DS 3?

Who knows, next year? @@
flyboy87
According to Bandai Namco's trends as I have noticed during the past 2-3 years, it's highly unlikely (I'm not saying that it's impossible) that they will release another Wii version next year. Releasing another one will be awesome with Taiko 12, 12 (Remake) and 13 songs; but it's highly unlikely.

Since Wii has got a lot of new and popular songs, I predict that they may release another DS version since the previous one had only 50ish songs. It'll be cool to play KitaSaitama on the DS, lol. :) I guess my touch screen will break.

And who knows??? They might release one for PS3 as well with over 100 songs... (which means, I need to get a PS3...)

For references, these are tracks that are not released to domestic console versions that I know of...

DON'T CUT (Taiko 12)
Chikuzei ~Gear Up~ (Taiko 12)
Haikei, Gakkou Ni te... (Taiko 11)
PaPaPa Love (Taiko 11)
Rumble Ranbu (Taiko 12)
Taiko Ranbu Kaiden (Taiko 11)
Caramelldansen (Taiko 12)
Mikaduki (Taiko 10, 11, 12)
Alones (Bleach) (Taiko 10)
Takio's Shoran 1 and 2 (Taiko 9, 10)
Spurt! (Taiko 9)
Fundari Kettari (Taiko 11)
Melt (Taiko 12 - Remake)
Prisoner of Love (Taiko 12)
Magical Sound Shower (Taiko 9)
Symphonic Motos (Taiko 10)

and so many more...

I sound like a Taiko scholar... *blush*

Then nobody would play the arcade...
flyboy87
Playing Taiko in the arcade is hell of a lot better than playing the home versions, IMHO.
mattyu007

It's definitely way better. You have full size drums and more songs to choose from, plus you get bragging rights if there are people watching you pwn

Only downside is you have to actually pay to play. RM1 for 2 songs isn't as cheap as I first thought.

And, you get to dominate the leaderboards there if you're really good!

The Garyoutensei series seems to keep moving forward. I'll bet if another DS version comes out, it'll probably have whatever latest addition to this series in the song roster.

Yeah, and some arcades out there have unforgiving prices.I'm looking at you, west kowloon.

Now about new console!taiko,I'm going for the DS here!Because 765 probably won't release another wii
version so soon, and I always liked to play on my DS.(not to mention I play better with the DS...)

Also,if 765 gets the following songs in DS,I'll worship them for like...forever.Yeah.

-Hibeke!Taiko no Tatsujin (recently listen to it,realized how GAR it were, now really wants it on DS
honestly,I'm getting tears from the awesomeness of this song.Really.)
-The rest of the 2000 songs, especially Kitasaitama (screen-breaker.Mmmm.) and X-DAY.
-The rest of the Garyou Tensei series.Simply because Kurofune Raikou(sp?) and Hakka Ryouran simply
isn't enough..
-Seasons of Asia and Chikuzei ~GEAR UP~.
-Some of them classic songs sure are awesome, songs like Toccata and Fugue Rock version.
-DON'T CUT,obviously
-And of course..76573!C'mon,please~?
Isn't Sengoku Sangen a part of the Garyoutensei series???

So Luigi wants us all to draw Taiko pirates! :3
We need to fill up this page, so get drawing! An example of what our page will look like can be found here.
Black and white lineart is highly preferred as it seems to look the best.
Have fun! :)
