A master database optimiser. Try calculating the different in storage space when the 3 byte integer is a primary key in a table with 12m+rows, and the primary key is used in 5 or 6 indexes. It's a lot of space and extra overhead in lookups.

Hmm.. I don't know if this is the cause but my score haven't been saved.

I made #3 in Tatsh - Kachoufuusetsu [Another] but I'm still #16.
In my profile, you can see that I cleared the song three times http://osu.ppy.sh/u/14137.

EDIT: And on top of that, my score has raised by 6 millions + 8 Millions + 8 Millions (which are the scores I made) instead of just 5 millions (I was #16 with ~3 millions).

EDIT2: Oh.. my scores is totally gone.. I'm not in the scoreboard anymore..

That wasn't what he was asking. o.O; He was asking if we were on a 4-byte counter now since we were on a 3-byte counter, and peppy said that after 16.7 mil plays or so, our plays wouldn't get counted until he changed it. So he was asking if peppy had changed it yet. :P

maybe it's time we got serious and expand the trend. I have a few friends that are aware of osu! and think it would become more popular if there were some sort of promotions or something. The majority of osu! agents (that's what i call people who play osu!, 'cuz they're recruits that have joined our mission to keep music fun and exciting) discovered the glorious game through word of mouth, non related forums, and fortunate stumbling. Maybe osu! should get it's own official Myspace page? No? Just a thought.

While that does sound like a good idea, it's also nice to keep low in case of big shot copyright companies realizing their songs are being (illegally) used. <w>

Keep the way as is, the amount of user registration is staggering anyway.

Osu! is a non profit organization and you can't really say it is just because people subscribe. Subscribers are not forced to pay for game time and therefore makes it completely fine. We aren't using any songs to make Commander Peppy money ,so it's fine as long as he maintains his generosity. BTW: people might be noticing I'm less brash and wacky now. I'm fixing myself.

Honest to God, i don't really download songs illegally through programs like Lime Wire. All the music in my iTunes library were purchased via iTunes Store or imported songs from CDs i buy. I only go for top quality music!
