whenever i update a map, it doesnt let me update. it just shows the update button again after updating.

As we all know, you can't play or edit on test build if you're not connected to bancho.

BUT - If you open an .osz file, it will take you into song select where you can then play. And the same goes for dragging an mp3 file into the window... it takes you into edit mode song select, where you can edit any map.

Found a bug with slider ticks: (i'll just copy-paste what i had typed up for a PM)

All the top scores are actual Full Combos, but the numbers are different. I found out that the slider at 00:24:92 (8) has 2 ticks on Test build and 1 tick on public build. I remember it only having 1 tick when i was mapping it though, since with the 2 ticks it sounds weird. It seems as if the bug lies with the tick rate itself, since a tick rate of 1 also has 2 ticks on that slider. The ticks just seem to move when i switch back and forth from 1 to .5, instead of halving the number of ticks.

That is quite likely, yes. Play with public for the time being.

I don't really know if it's intentional, anyway...
When you choose to spectate someone who doesn't have the map you're playing and then you watch another map with auto, osu! may swith you to the previous user you choose to spectate if he chhoses to play a map you have.

In other words, osu! doesn't stop spectating a player when you choose autoplay as a mod.

In editor, if you have chat up, none of the chat buttons/tabs work at all. It is still possible to type in chat, and editor buttons still work.

EDIT: hold up, i've gotten them to work in 800x600. In 1024x768, the actual button locations are lower than the buttons appear.

When clicking a link to minimize osu from fullscreen, osu will try to stay the active window. Meaning i have to click the window i want to work with about 10-15 times before i can work with it.

Closing the chat window in osu will sometimes clear the search bar at song select.

Undo-ing an action in the editor when a BG image is used that does not take up the entire screen will cause the black behind the image to disappear, showing the selected skin's playfield.png instead. Examples: Battle Frontier (ranked), Theme of Sakura (Unranked)

Kiai Mode is currently broken. All notes in kiai mode all completely white(making taiko mode incredibly hard to play, as you can't see red/blue) (i actually only tested this once.)
EDIT: new bug.

If you play in osu! mode, then play a taiko specific song, osu automatically changes to taiko. The scoreboards, however, do not.

Search function at song select is now broken.

During Kiai time in Taiko, (i'm not entirely certain about this, but) it seems that the glowing effect doesn't end at the hit area. Visually it just looks as though a note passed through.

Added 1.2x score adjustment during kiai time (taiko only).
I think the score at the top right should reflect this. Meaning on the map i'm working on, i can get up to 1100 per note. After Kiai time starts, it still says 1100 per note, instead of 1320.

The notes themselves aren't actually supposed to flash during Kiai time, the circle where all the notes go is supposed to catch fire, the taiko "bar" turns pink, and Wada-don starts flailing ^_____^

Clicking on a song to bring up osu!direct side panel in MP will play the preview, but will also play the currently selected song as well.

I don't think this is a bug. As always, I never look at the original game while making osu!. The effects may differ slightly. I personally like the flashing beats so they will likely stay. I'll see what I can do about the other crap.

It does. If its not displaying it then you aren't getting it (yes there is a reason for this at my end).

It's affecting the in the same manner, here. When you go to type something in while at the song select screen, nothing happens; the "Search: type to begin!" tidbit isn't responding.

"Kat" sound doesn't play in Taiko mode when playing a map that use custom sample sounds (like my Saitama2000 and Noriwaki Iwadare - Pursuit ~ Caught). It uses Normal whistle sound instead.

And the combo burst sound doesn't reset when a player breaks a combo. Like, I missed a note at 230 combo. When I get to 50 combo again, I heard "Sambyakku combo" instead of "Goju combo".

Alignment problems

Since i suck at describing thing, i'll use pictures

Progress bar stops correctly during play, but sometimes, when you hit stop, it'll extend like it does above. EDIT: ninja'd



If that alignment is correct, then ignore the first large circle. The second small circle shows that there is a visible line down the right side of the screen. Combobursts will appear there as well.



Also, Importing a .osz requires a press of f5 to appear.

When a Taiko map using the Taiko skin is tested, the red notes could not be input when testing for the first time (could not press buttons for red notes as it does not register). However, everything returns to normal after first test after retry.

If a map is edited again and is tested for the first time after editing, this happens again.

Two bugs to report.

1. Imported files do not show up until after F5 is pressed. Tested using the newest Gunther ranked file.
2. Using screenies to describe a problem.

If I go into osudirect to click on a link like this...

Then the osudirect link goes haywire if I go back one screen, like this.

DirectX 1440x900 Fullscreen

Main menu lost its letterbox. Oh that was in the changelog. But shouldn't the chat and user list also go widescreen?

In multiplayer, downloading from osu!direct causes #multiplayer to disappear. You also can't hit Leave Game after this(alt-f4 still works though)
Also the map had trouble importing, but i'm not sure why.

Switching to full screen from a widescreen resolution reverts back to a 4:3 screen resolution. Changing the resolution back to widescreen after this causes nothing to be displayed except for tooltips. Changing menus didn't help. Deselecting fullscreen fixes it.

Pressing F5 in an MP game removes #multiplayer and stops your from clicking "Leave Game". Esc works tho

b656, Larto and I both experienced failing at the very end of a song despite having nearly full hp. My best guess was it had to do with playing a few songs on auto-pilot and then switching it off, as restarting osu allowed me to pass.

You can choose both Autoplay and Autopilot at once if Autoplay is clicked first OR if you activate Autoplay via Ctrl + A.

EDIT: Also, I guess I should let you know, it's possible to choose Spun-Out and Autoplay at once, too, when pressing Ctrl + A while having Spun-Out activated. Not only in Test Build, though.

I doubt this is due to autopilot. Can you try and figure under what scenario this happens? It's quite important :).

Autoplay has issues with inherited double/half speed sections. This can be seen easily in the hardest difficulty of this map, even moreso with double time on.

Videos don't seem to work at all for me anymore.

In "Funtastic Power! - This is Sparta REMIX" (ranked) the music started playing, but the screen froze, and the PC lagged so bad I had problems closing osu! - it took me several minutes just to get task manager open. It doesn't fail the song or anything - it just keeps going. It is worth noting that once, it did fail the song after freezing, and osu! still worked fine, but when I started the same song again without restarting osu! and let it run to the end, osu! crashed with an error message (not the crash reporter).

In "Caramell - Caramelldansen (Speedycake Remix)" (ranked) the video showed a few frames, then went back to the skin background. No lag at all.

It seems likely to me that the ffmpeg integration has something to do with it, as it worked fine before that.

EDIT: It seems that videos do work - but only on some songs. osu! just crashed in the middle of a song with a video (with the error reporter), however the video worked fine up until that point.

When you get PM'd in IRC and the PM tab opens, the first message Lacks the "<" and ">".
So it looks like this

"00:01 Larto lol"
When it should look like
"00:01 <Larto> lol"

As I said, that only applies to the first message that was sent, all others look normal.

When I download a new song through osu direct and go to single player, the song select automatically goes to the newest song, as is normal behavior. However, the song preview doesn't play despite the song being selected, it just continues to play whatever was playing from the menu.

EDITOR: Click the timing tab, then the compose/design tab. The time-line ticks are only visible across half the screen.

EDITOR/PROBABLY PLAY TOO: Downloading a song as NoVideo causes it to crash osu! upon opening (I briefly saw the "Video playback failed!" message). Easily fixed by removing the video entry from within the .osu file, for now.

EDITOR: Probably an old bug but alt-arrow to jump from timing section to timing section is buggy when inherited timing sections are present. (I have two red ticks in here and some green ticks, I can only jump to the first red tick and first green tick).

Also oops this isn't my bug thread what am I doing here.

Pressing f8 and f9 at the main menu is changing the song playing on the jukebox.

EDIT: So does alt-tab apparently. Also, I've crashed on a couple occasions now just by seeking through songs to find one i want to listen to.(if crash reports got sent, then search around 10:35 PM EST (GMT-5))

EDIT2: Actually, it's more like every key on my keyboard. And it takes a really long time to change songs for some reason. Might be related to the crashing?

Upon failing a song and clicking back, then pressing random, the song doesn't change.
EDIT: Now random doesn't change the song at all. Hmm, pretty sure it worked a few minutes ago.

Another thing I noticed is that if you press random twice, it moves to the new song instantly, which is actually nice. But it's probably unintended, since the osu! button is unclickable after doing that, until you either exit and reenter the song list by pressing back, or press random again.

Having a song playing when exiting song select to the main menu, then selecting a song on the Main Menu using the Jump To... option will only continue the current song. Repeating the Jump To... process fixes.

bpm adjustment resets to 1x whenever you move a inherited timing section

1. i opened up timing setup panel (F6)
2. shift clicked the timing sections i want to adjust (with or without bpm adjustment included)
3. inputted a new offset (-10 offset for example) and checked the inherit previous timing settings << i think this is causing it to reset.
4. apply and exit


i just find it... annoying.. heh..

1) Can only choose the first subcategory in any filter tab. When clicking any of the other categories (ex: Last Week [date filter], -A- [Artist Filter]), it will shake, but will not open. If the top category is closed, clicking it will open, but only that category.

Confirmed by Cyclone as well.

2) When returning to song selection with a filter previously applied, (either from finishing playing a song or from main menu to song select), song is not highlighted with scores and whatnot. Screenshot here. This does not apply if the previous filter set was "Show All"

Ranks on song select that I've obtained in the past do not display. Any new plays will display ranks however, but whatever rank my CURRENT best play is, not from before.

1) With Hover Actions checked, changing filter tabs prevents the song wheel from rotating to the currently playing song, and instead rotates to the top instead.

2) So after a bit of playing around, foulcoon, Cheese, and I have come to an agreement as to whats causing slider lag while playing Double Time. If the slider velocity normally speeds up, the game will not register it, breaking the map (basically becomes a normal 1x slider instead of 2x). This only happens if Frame Limiter is turned ON.
