I think we should make an absolute definition for the term "overmapping", sine right now that is pretty much just up to personal opinions.

That's what I think too.
Also the star system is different as in TnT I would say. Overmapping has also something to do with the star system and hitting a drum or a keyboard are two different play styles. So the star system need to be made higher(Over 10☆) or just the standart lvl made harder(max still 10☆).
Well, tought just to mention that - Not like we are making now one or so. lol

My general definition of overmapping: if the notes don't fit the song, it's either overmapped or undermapped. Simple as that.

IMO, it's a per song basis. All of the 7 god songs in TnT are all chaotic songs one way or another, which would then make their charts OK.
So instead of bickering on the map itself, my personal course of action is to find better songs for difficulty instead of forcing a really difficult map on songs that are generally OK.

We have allready a Namco star system, aquabluu system, ddrddr125 system, 1miko1 system, other systems and the ono system. Seams little bit stupid to me to be honest.

A 8* map for me is for the most people allready 10-12* or more, I mean, what? You don't want honestly tell me kkdkd patterns or 9 pattern-k/d streams are allready 12* on the keyboard. lol
The standarts here has also changed into a huge lvl. We have allready problems to say which lvl Firce Maps, Taikosaki and Shinsekai has because we keep it so low. For me this makes no sence, sorry.

I mean, I don't want to force now people to make a big change or so. xD

@Ono : If there were a taiko-star-system for each taiko mapper, we would be confused easily. Fortunately mine is not really present, just for "estimation" purposes. I don't know who's the most reliable rating but whatever. Some of your 9-star maps are considered as their 11-star maps.

My rating, however, is likely based on my StepMania Rating (Going on a scale from 1 to 13, beyond it's insanely hard) but scaled to Taiko star rating. So :
inb4 tldr
1 is 1★
2 is 1+★
3 is 2★
4 is 3★
5 is 4★
6 is 4+★
7 is 5★
8 is 6★
9 is 7★
10 is 8★ => Weird, 10 was the limit of HARD in the older DDR songs... and HARD is MUZUKASHII in taiko and in taiko, the limit is 8.
11 is 8+★
12 is 9★
13 is 10★
14 is 10+★
15 and beyond are over 11★.

I don't know how yours/ddr's/aqua's/lepi's/Ozzy's works but as long as they are reliable to the map's feeling (imagine 1★ for haya matasaitama 2000... I'd rather die than seeing this lol) it's fine.

The star ratings I use usually assume the player is already accustomed to playing on Oni. If someone's just starting out, of course an 8* would seem like a 12* at first. That's why there's the lower difficulty tiers like Muzukashii.

Though I'm always too lazy to map that unless it's an authentic :P

By coincidence, me and another of Malaysia's Taiko super-pros met each other at the same arcade. The result? One of the most epic plays I have ever done in 12.5. Open spoilerbox for pics. Player 1 is me, I inched him out by a few thousand points because he missed one note at the end of Koibumi. Both of us FCed Kechadon.

Can some of you tell me (if you remember/know) what were the first taiko specific maps and what was the first ranked one?
And any other various important things about taikosu! that you can include, I'd appreciate it.

First ranked one was Saitama 2000 by Kharl.
First Taiko specific maps...I'm not sure, but I didn't find anybody else doing it when I made the first set of Taiko Trials (7 maps) when the mod was first introduced.

The lyrics are supposed to be about a mulberry tree this time, so I don't think it will.

@aqua I can try to see what I can squeeze out of the song, but I've been trying for a long time and I just can't make out anything she sings. That accent is extremely thick.

I only got a few words out of it, even when slowed down to 50% of its original speed. I'm not even sure if those are right. Sorry, that accent is just WAY TOO THICK. I grew up with people who have accents, but I've never encountered something quite like this before. :p

Is there anyway to control the speed of the slow mod? Or just a way to control the speed that a map plays in osu!Taiko? Kind of like in Taikojirou where you can go to the config file and type in exactly how fast or slow you want the sim to run?

And do any of you (and specifically crystal for obvious reasons) know where I can get my hands on a JKOC? I've been searching for a while now and all I see are USKOCs, which would be fine, except for the fact that it has stability issues outside of PS/PS2 use.

@Ozzy FYI it's only available in the Japanese app store,because
we all know how "smart" Konmai can be.
There's also Jukebeat I think,but I can't find it in the HK app store
Eh maybe it's possible to DL that via jailbreaking.

@anongos IDK…When it comes to Bemani,I'm an AC-only player
(I don't have a PS2 nor a PSP)
