00:07:530 (6) - I think it's don, since the pitch is lower than 00:03:659 (3) -

permalink

I agree

00:14:304 (12) - maybe you can consider change this into a spinner that ends in 00:15:272 - so that it makes an special emphasis on the length of that note and also serves as a introduction to the next part

00:16:481 - You can add some notes in this part, since the drums are noticeable imo. For example adding don here 00:17:812 - to make ddk and add kat here 00:19:747 - 00:20:110 -

permalink

Also you can add double here 00:28:820 - to follow the piano, making dd.

permalink
Marked as resolved by gaston_2199

00:18:175 (7) - I think there you could put a dkd since you can clearly hear a strong sound that I think shouldn't be ignored, same for 00:22:046 (18) - where you could put a kdk. Of course do the same thing with 00:25:917 (29) - , with a dkd

permalink

In that part I'm emphatizing the melody part. Differently from other parts of the map where I placed a big note in that sound's spot, here it would make the sound feel weired to play so it wouldn't be oprimal to ear.

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

00:40:554 (46) - It's a don, have the same pitch than 00:32:812 (5,24) -

permalink

Same here 00:56:038 (138) -

Reopen. Seems like the modder resolved this by mistake and the mapper doesn't respond yet.

Oh dear peppy how much I love the new modding system... now definitively fixed those btw.

00:54:707 (130,131) - Ctrl+G here, for try to make consistency with 00:38:860 (36,37,38,39,40,41) - (As you made in 00:50:715 (103,104,105,106,107) - with 00:42:973 (59,60,61) - )

permalink

It is an evident mistake I didn't notice

00:59:062 - How about adding a note here to follow the kick sound consistently to 00:59:546 - 01:00:030 - 01:00:514 ?

Same to 02:16:481 - 03:49:385

permalink

I agree on that, in facts other pieces later on in the map have the same feature.

permalink

00:59:546 (133,134,135,136,137,138,139,140,141) - It literally sounds much better if you invert all these notes (d k d k d d k d k)

01:00:272 (158) - I think you can remove this and 02:17:691 (585) - this

permalink

That was actually un needed overmapping, ty.

01:03:901 - adding notes here or in 01:04:385 - (for guitar or for bass, respectively) should help to make the break not too uncomfortably long

permalink

agree

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

01:03:901 (172,173,174,175) - I think could be better if it's kdkk, to follow better the guitar

permalink

Just played x0.50 and noticed you're right

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

01:12:247 - Add dons in that break to follow the synth

permalink

Makes sense, I was not so sure about that change because of the consistency with other pieces like this but there are not (sound-wise)

permalink

01:17:207 (224,225,226,227) - this isn't really called by anything on the song (drums are like 1/4 kk dd, the melody is 1/8 starting from 01:17:328 - ..). In any case, if you wanted to add a trill there you should've also made it in 01:18:175 -

permalink

agree

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

This pattern 01:17:207 - can be done differently, try test this https://puu.sh/DzYVv.png (in the last 1/6 can go kkkd also)

permalink

It follows better the pitch, I agree. Also cool to play.

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

01:17:207 (251,252,253,254) - This should be changed to 1/4 instead as we have an obvious sound on 01:17:328 (1/4 snap). So 1/6 here looks a little bit overdone.

permalink

Discussed, the mapper change to 1/4 instead.

permalink
Marked as resolved by Tyistiana

01:18:417 - Try make more intensive the kiai, since it has almost the same intensity in the notes that 00:47:449 - . Making build up would be fine

permalink

Can't do this because of consistency issues I would have imo but I'll lower some other parts difficulty instead

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

01:21:441 - why do you never map the 1/8 here? this is one difficulty, and if not for the fact an oni should be mapped according to what the song has to offer, consistency should be taken into account for this pattern since it's the same melody line as 01:20:473 - . Please add 1/8 in all areas that contain the melody with 1/8. Apply to the second kiai as well (wouldn't be that hard since it's copy pasted)

permalink

I just tested it out and I'm not that sure... those sounds are so minor that they are a half the volume of the others I mapped but there they are. The reason why I'm concerned about placing them is instead around the monotony of the map. There are already around 50 "structures" that start with a ddk in 1/8 and adding those you mentioned to me would make the player bored easily. This gives me a doubt so I'd like to know what you think about. (Valuable point so thanks!)

permalink

I was waiting but since this is a Game about Music and since this change is not vital or necessary for the map to be correct, I think the experience of the player is rather more important than a forced mapping of every sound and since this would make the map less enjoyable to me I won't apply this modify. Btw thanks for the other tips.

01:25:191 (306) - consider removing this note in every reptition of this phrase as it's out of character to what you've been mapping this entire time. this note being here takes away emphasis from 01:25:070 (305) - which is the highest (and most emphasized) note in the melody. since you've previously been ignoring simple bass kicks like this consistently through the kiai, it doesn't make sense that you choose to map it here, so consider removing it.

the hangovers at 01:49:022 - and 04:23:860 - seems to be mostly the same, so why does one have the melody mapped 1/4 over and one doesn't? consider making these consistently mapped

01:49:385 - the end of the chorus is here, the downbeat. choruses will almost never end a beat after their downbeat, so please fix this.

permalink

Could not ignore the sound at the beginning of the beat too so decided to place 2 dons

permalink

What Nifty mean here is that you should turn the kiai off at 01:49:385 instead of 01:49:868. I agree to Nifty here, please consider this again.

permalink

permalink
Marked as resolved by Kith190

01:49:627 - there's no reason for a finisher to be here, there is hardly even any sounds. please delete this note for these reasons. it would make more sense for 01:49:385 (466) - to be a finisher due to the beginning of this wub noise, but it seems that you removed it after a thought, so that's fine.
