Hi!
My request is: possibility to display a clock that shows your system time next to fps' number (any other place will be good too).

Why?
Sometimes I'd like to know what the time is when playing osu! but I don't want to stop gameplay just to grab phone or watch just to know the time.
Kitsunemimi
I'd actually sort of really wanted this, since it would be useful, but I don't really know where the clock should go. Beside the FPS counter sounds like a bad spot, plus I don't even use the FPS counter. For the mean time, you can hit F8 and look at the time the last person said something.
Hyguys
f8 , then see what time is it. duh
Esupanitix
I think he means EXACT time, as in <Hours>:<Minutes>:<Seconds> <PM/AM> or <Hours>:<Minutes>:<Seconds> out of 24 hours.

But yes, that would be something I would find useful EXCEPT

If you use a Windows computer, you can just hit the Start Key on your keyboard, and then look in the lower-right corner for the time. That is, if your taskbar is on the bottom of the screen.

Therefor, this idea isn't really useful but it isn't really useless.

and F8 chat method

Both requires you to stop gameplay for a while so clock that will be displayed all time in-game will allow to do just quick look and know the time.

Also I didn't mean setting like "Show FPS counter and clock" but separate switch for "Show in-game clock"

Maybe not exactly what I tought but exact time won't be bad. Or "Show seconds" sub-switch for clock.

Any place for time is fine: fps counter, folowing cursor, next to score or hit-counter...
OzzyOzrock
I'd like an osu! time clock since it seems to be way farther ahead of my time.

I just posted another thread about this, but I got linked to this one. This is what I want.
Kitsunemimi
First of all, that one's not in the actual ingame interface (purpose of this thread), and second, non-widescreen users won't be able to have that clock.
Backstabber
Support. No need for the clock to be shown ingame. It can just be in the f8 menu.

This, plus I play on Windowed mode, so I can just spot on the current time at Windows' notification area without having to stop for a while. :P

Dont you see the time on user panels anyways?

No, we are living in different countries.

What about checking your own user panel then
YodaSnipe
Why do we need a work around? It's a pain to find your own damn panel amongst the rest.

Then tell me, why do you need an in-game clock? this would make like one of the only (if not the only) game that does this, you can easily add yourself to friend list, and find yourself in "Friends only". It's not like is a necessity either, i always check my watch to know the time, if i'm playing a full screen game, otherwise i watch my computer clock.
I kinda wonder, why do u need to implement a clock.
YodaSnipe
Why do I need an in-game clock? Cause I'm in full screen without a watch. I have added myself to friends, still takes longer to find the time cause I have a lot of friends. Maybe it's not a necessity, but it is being requested, and some people here think it would make a good simple addition.

press f8. Click on #osu. Type something.

That being said, putting a clock on f8 or f9 would be nice.

something like (1:44)> if it's in chat, or somewhere top right for the bancho menu.

Thanks for reminding me of that, you can see timestamps on all chat messages. you can even message banchobot /bb by PM if u dont wanna bother typing in public.
senaya
all the suggestions look like temporary solutions, lol

Stop posting work arounds. People want to see something simple. What if you're new to the game and don't know any of this stuff and don't talk to many people in #osu. I remember I didn't talk to anyone there for almost two months.
IppE
MSI afterburner GET
settings -> on screen display -> show system time

another workaround but at least it works

YodaSnipe
Again, something simple that works. Not another workaround that works.
Shiro
I actually see this useful. I usually play before going to sleep, and I check the time through #osu to know when to stop and actually go to bed. >.> but that's not very handful and I'd rather see a clock in the game.
Would be good if it was possible to check a certain country's timezone with it too !
YodaSnipe
Would it be possible to get some input from the devs about this? I think many would benefit from it, but if there are any technical issues then obviously that's a separate issue.

I have 300+ friends including myself, how can i easily find myself among those 300 users?
Press F8,F9,blah-blah,type blah-blah, blah-blah... seriously, just make it same as it is on screenshot on the previous page.

I'm still not getting what's so hard about finding out the time. The osu! clock is set up to connect with your computer clock. You don't even have to TYPE in osu! chat! You can just play and have the chat ticker open. When people type, a timestamp will appear, even though you're not even typing!

But I don't get what all the fuss is about. There's PLENTY of easy ways to get the time to appear in osu! I've never struggled with finding out the time in osu!, because I can easily find the time out in two buttons! I guess I understand that during gameplay, you'd might want to see if you're missing your favorite episode of Seinfeld or something, but there's breaks for a reason! You can simply pause, and check the time! In fact, if you're in a break, you can easily look at the chat ticker and see "Oh! someone typed right now at <22:38>! It must be 22:38!" if you're playing this super cool long insane map that has no breaks, then knowing what time it is would be the least of your problems.

Yeah, I don't get this request very much. It's not like you have to venture out into the Barbary Coast or anything to find out what the time is. It's as simply as two buttons (or none if you have an active channel on the ticker).

Sorry if I seem kinda like "ROOAARR". I'm a bit tired. I guess I haven't been paying attention to the clock. . .
YodaSnipe
Hey guess what? Sometimes #osu dies and the chat tickers are not the correct time. Or perhaps that didn't occur to you.
Rena-chan
Hey, guess what ?

Also, even if #osu is dead, all that takes is /msg yourownnamelol huuuuurrrrrrrrrrrr

No.
Shohei Ohtani
Also, during gameplay, when you finish, a timestamp is given at the top (ie. http://osu.ppy.sh/ss/196735)

Even though I admit the time is wrong (or at least for me).

I'm not saying it's the greatest, but just another solution that works even if bancho is down (but I'm not sure if you can still type in chat even if bancho is down o-o).

If you are playing any other game you also send a message to the creators about creating in-game clock? Geez, just get your phone or normal clock and place it near you... and if you are playing full screen - alt+tab is your friend.
YodaSnipe
Sorry alt-tab doesn't work for me it crashes osu for some reason.

if you run osu! through Steam would you get the Steam overlay functionality? That's another approach
YodaSnipe
................. going nowhere.

yes the UI shows but probably a natively implemented feature, rather than one that relies on directx hooks and therefore has some overhead, is a better approach

Bumping 8 month old thread

A clock in-game is low priority, but it would be a really nice add. A lot of other games have included clocks because people want them, and they're useful.

In Tera the clock is right below the fps in the bottom right corner. It came with a toggle function because not everyone wanted it, but its nice to keep track of time without much effort while playing.

oh hello random added request. can someone mark this as added?
