osu! downtime Dec 9th, 2010

Hi guys, osu! had a bit of downtime sometime around 15:00 GMT to around 19:30 GMT. Right now, we're not 100% sure what caused it. Between this time, the forums nor in-game bancho was available, however, IRC clients were still able to connect. At the time of writing, we're still having a bit of problems. Until things are still sorted out, the website, scoring, replays, and osu!direct may be slow or unavailable at random times. We'll fill you in as time progresses.

Thanks for being patient with us, and don't forget to follow @osustatus in case things go down again.

Anyone remember the database hiccup osu! experienced around... June/July '09 when dozens(?) of accounts mysteriously disappeared? :P

Ja, I was one of them.
Yeah, it happened to me back then as well.

My user id. was required I believe to be able to restore my account and posts. This is the number you see in the URL when you visit your profile page (http://osu.ppy.sh/u/#####). If Faust has a visit to the profile page in the browser's cache, it would be possible to retrieve the id by checking the URL of the profile.

@Faust: I restored your account from a backup from September. You may be required to enter an old password. Your current posts and other such things should be restored. (actually they were never gone, just invisible)

So it seems my post count was reset, but the actual posts still do exist am I correct?

Big sigh. Hm, I should have 800+ posts. My latest ones seem to be intact and all, kudosu appears to be reset(but that's probably false)
I'm guessing it will take a bit more time for the posts to come back to me? The password reset was right though.
