Simple suggestion.I just made a compilation and it includes 17 songs. It shows

"Length: 13:44 BPM: 210 Objects: 2004"

But all songs have different BPMs and it doesnt give enough information, even if summing up all BPMs in one.
So my suggestion is to be like this.

"Length: 13:44 BPM: 123~210 Objects: 2004"

Showing more detailed information about the BPM and whats going on in the map/diff if there are BPM changes or timing isnt very accurate (dodgy songs).

Actually, this is a pretty good idea, especially for compilations. It would be cool if it showed the variation of BPM as you describe.

Great for any type of multi BPM beatmap.

As long as it uses a hyphen instead of a tilde for separation, sure.

I wanted to suggest this too, used search, found this thread, so reviving it rightfully!

When wanting to practice streamy map, being able to know the map BPM is very important! For example if you want to practice specifically 160/170/180/190/200 bpm streams, you want to correctly see the map's BPM, to know the stream speed it has.

However! Right now osu only shows max BPM. A lot of maps use one BPM for 90% of the map, and have a small section with a faster BPM. Here are some examples:

http://osu.ppy.sh/s/38872 - has a 240BPM section in the end, but the entire map is 170BPM. (shows 240, should be 170)
http://osu.ppy.sh/s/40931 - has 277BPM during spinners for no good reason. The entire real map is 186BPM. (shows 277, should be 186)
http://osu.ppy.sh/s/40233 - has a 6 second long 240BPM section. The entire map is 160BPM. (shows 240, should be 160)

Just showing the highest BPM section of a map gives very false information to the player here:

It also hurts the sorting when using sort by BPM.
Why can't osu show a BPM range? i.e.

Maps like http://osu.ppy.sh/s/40931, though, would show something broken like "11-277" because of how it was mapped... (when the real BPM is 186), so, if possible, maybe just let mappers choose what BPM to display on their own? i.e. instead of letting osu automatically pick, just let the mapper pick in the map in Edit mode while making it...

It is true that old maps due to mapping would display incorrect min-max ratio, but nowadays is unrankable to use red lines for anything other than timing related, so adding a range should be fine.

I wish old ranked beatmap could be removed for gone.

How I wish this for some of them. ;.;

So you're happy to just delete a part of osu!'s history? okay.

Keep it separate then.

We should not be able to have maps that are impossible to FC. Online rankings on unranked beatmaps?

Unrank and fix the problems and then rank again?

edit: typo

How about taking action then? It's not just going to happen on its own.

Good idea!
