[Archived] Letterboxing size on different resolution monitors

So I'm switching from a 1080p screen to a 1440p screen, and on my 1080p monitor I play with a 1366x768 letterbox

Extra info:

I play with tablet so I'm not worried about scaling dpi or anything

1080p monitor is 24 inches

1440p monitor is 23.8 inches

Now what I'm trying to solve, is what would I set the resolution to on the ever so slightly smaller 1440p monitor to have the EXACT same letterboxing size (in physical measurements) for my osu gameplay, ±1mm preferably

This is pretty math heavy Imo and I couldnt figure out how to solve it.

To anyone who can help I would greatly appreciate it <3

If you set it to 1366x768 I believe it's gonna be the same as before.

Both monitors are quite similiar in inches, so the difference is really minor that you won't even notice it.

But what about the in game res? Because the resolution is increased quite significantly so 1366x768 would make a much smaller window than it would on a 1080p monitor

I know this is an old post but I will give an answer for anyone who might stumble across this and needs an actual answer.
set your desktop resolution to 1080p every time you want to play osu! this will fix the problem. with the only remaining difference being the size of your monitor which you could solve by adjusting the distance of the monitor and your eyes.
