Hi there.
I got a lot of things to say.
There are so many things to say That I'm going to throw a lot of things before the mapping itself :
Here is a little thing that I did to show you what's a timing, etc, as said on IRC.
Download:
meowychristmas - Jingle The Red Nosed Kitten (MrdonoB) [Sushi Example].osusave it in your map folder.
Don't upload it. This is not a guest diff, nor something you can just copy paste the pattern to put in your map.You better not want to do that. This is a source of ideas and example to make you think about mapping.
Use these map info :
Artist : Meowy Christmas
(Don't have the real artist, but this is at least more suitable)
Make sure you read this post before resubmitting after changing the artist nameRemove meowychristmas from the sources.
Do not rip MP3 From youtube videos ! their quality is generally crappy, and it is atm. It's not because something is 192 kbps that it's good quality.
Convert your video to avi and Compress it PLEASE, it doesn't have to be so Huge. Besides, you mp3 + video need to be cut. We don't need the credits + additional videos, which were directly ripped from youtube (and the video itself is not worth it).
Do not double the countdown speed, it is kinda useless here. If you want to keep the count down, make it normal speed.
Now onto the mapping.
USe this timing please :
BPM : 190,25Offset : 4622I suggest remapping all your diffs, because they all have these problems :
TimingThe General timing of your map is wrong. use the timing I gave to have something timed decently.
Hint : To see if your general timing is good, try to put notes on each White tick in the timeline and listen to see if it sounds good during all the song.
if it doesn't, and that means your timing is wrong.Note TimingYou got the idea, but implicitly becvause of the general timing, your notes are not on the correct spots.
Hint : I you have to alway map to 1/3, 1/4, and never fall on 1/1 or 1/2, or something, that means your general timing or note timing is probably wrong.
Note placement, SpacingYour note spacement is very very very awkward. How? Unless people know the song, they can't tell visually how it is done.
For that, please use the Distance spacing. Make sure you read the Distance spacing Faq in the
Editor FaqHint : You can enable the distance spacing here
http://puu.sh/2KF1 or by keeping the Alt key pressed.
Besides, avoid maps with packed notes.
CosmeticDon't make ugly things! specially about sliders. try to do shapes that are good looking, for that, you can see the
Delicious Slider Guide and start to make awesome sliders !
HitsoundsDon't abuse of them ! They have to be used on top of the song to emphasis things, without using them all the time.
The best exemple I can give you on your map is when you use lots of Finishes. My ears hurt man ;_;
Sliders (again)Don't abuse of sliders ! Veeeeeeeery long sliders are not fun, even for beginners. and using only sliders is boring, except in a few cases (which are generally way harder diffs)
Now that you've read all of that (I hope for you)
You can take a look at what I gave you.
Basically, there are 5 parts.
From 00:09:667 to 00:33:951 : Note timing and pattern for Hard/Insane diff.
00:39:943 to 00:44:464 : Note timing and pattern for Normal/Hard diff.
00:50:035 to 00:59:812 : Note timing and pattern for Easy/Normal diff.
01:20:311 to 01:22:204 : Bad spacing example.
01:25:357 to 01:26:934 : Good spacing example.
I won't detail everything, but try to get real mods after you remapped your diffs.
Ooooooooooooooooooh yeah, almost forgot, The difficulty settings. Small circles are annoying, you don't have to use them (specially for that kind of song)
Learn to put them correctly !
