[Archived] LOW FPS after updating

I used to play osu! normally about 4 months ago, but when I updated it to the Halloween version and the version after that, I got a serious FPS drop problem. I get only 10-15 FPS (it used to be 240) in the fullscreen mode. When I cancel the fullcreen mode, the problem is solved but input latency is hugely increased. If I go back to the stable(fall back) version, the problem is perfectly solved, but I wonder if there is any possibility to solve the problem in the latest version since the homescreen is much wonderful than the fall back version :(

Have you tried running in compatibility mode?

Could you post your specs here?
If it is low end, fallback has lesser features so it lags less.

This means that you have some options to lessen the lag, but it might reduce the appearance of the game
Try doing these steps to reduce the lag

This thread:
  1. turn off shaders
  2. replace unused/unnecessary skin elements with a 1x1 transparent pixel
  3. don't use snaking sliders
  4. turn off video
  5. run at lower resolution
  6. disable aero in windows (if playing windowed)
  7. make sure you are running on a 240 fps cap
  8. Make sure the fullscreen setting is ticked
  9. See if the 'reduce dropped frames' setting helps.
  10. Update your graphics drivers to the latest
