All right, so anything running in the background like auto updating programs / web pages etc
What build are you using?Elementaires wrote:
Same problem here, huge FPS drop every 10 seconds that make the game unplayable.
And yes i turned off all the programs in the background and all my drivers are up to date.
Yesterday, everything was fine.
I put Kaspersky on gaming profile.drum drum wrote:

Interesting, what kind of lag do you usually get? Does it seems like it doesn't recognise your key input or is it a complete FPS drop?Lunavista wrote:
Though my laptop isn't the best, it used to be able to play osu just fine as well, but now i'm unable to play (CtB mainly) at all due to lag.
I don't have anything running in the background save skype/chrome, though even when I close everything it stutters.
I hope everyone's lag gets resolved soon, though!
Edit: Having it at base osu skin seems to help, but it still stutters a little.
I hope you get yours fixed soon too because it is a nightmare with this problem. I too get random misses. What about yours? Can you provide any specifics of what your problem is like? I might be able to help.ZeeL wrote:
Hello there !
Even tho i'm a complete noob, after some time i'm now sure that the issue doesn't come from my fingers but the game ^^
I also experience random misses. Everything is up to date on my laptop but it's barely playable right now. Nothing on the background to consume any ressource in particular.
I obviously tried to switch keybinds but it's the same.
I'm not an expert enough to provide any specifics but reading the aboves, i'm sure i'm in the same boat as others. No idea how i can describe better to help
This does nothing and Kaspersky could be causing the issue with real-time scanning ect. (I've done a lot of tests on my old laptop and Norton, Kaspersky, McAfee and a bunch more cause spikes.NeVe12p4wNeD wrote:

Look into it.
Are you using full screen res?NeVe12p4wNeD wrote:

And by the way, my problem disappeared without a reason just like how it came. I don't have this problem any more. Although I don't know when it will be back.
My supporter also ended along with it. >.>
Win 8.1, full screen or not is the same.Nerve wrote:
My apologies if this was already stated, what version of windows are you running? And are you running it in full screen?

It happened in both fullscreen and not fullscreen so I didn't bother to elaborate on this matter.Nerve wrote:

Have you tried tweaking the priority of the osu!.exe processor?ZeeL wrote:

I asked on IRC yesterday for more solutions but no luck. Here s what i tried so far :
Fresh install of the game
Changing game settings in all possible ways
Tweaking antivirus
Changing keybindings
Changing installation folders, directories etc
Keeping a single song on the folder to make sure nothing happens on song list
Running naked under the rain with spicy ham in my buttcrack
Checking .cfg files to make sure there's no conflicts
And i guess there's more i can't remember
Game was perfectly fine until something like 3 weeks ago. Nothing really changed on my laptop since then. My osu! folder is the one i had on my desktop which was working like a charm.
What about Windows Restore? If you have any backup available before the date this problem happens, you could try and do it. And maybe even find out what causes it?ZeeL wrote:
Just tried, not better.
Weird, I'm sure I did the same thing as you did but didn't find anything wrong with the sequence I got.ZeeL wrote:
Well i did plenty more tests and it appear that the problem doesn't come from the game at the end
I ended up spamming DJDJDJDJDJDJ etc on a note pad and noticed that the sequence breaks to stuff like DJDJDJJJDJDJDJDJDDJJDJD etc
Tried to find the issue about this sort of input lag but can't find anything. Only answers i found would be that as expected, window 8 is just as shitty as it supposed to be.
No osu! or precise games until i'll be back home in a year or so then
