Do this:

1.Play a beatmap
2.Fail it
3.Click exit and quickly go back to the osu! menu
4.Let the song play until the end

When it finishes osu! is not playing the next track

Nothing serious but still...

osu! version: 20140117 (latest)

Edit: Replication steps

1. Use arrow keys to switch tracks
2. Go to main menu and wait for song to end

I think it was fixed for a while but It's happening for me again.

EDIT: It's happening for me even if I don't fail the map (sometimes) but I don't know how to cause it.

I know I have trouble using the arrow keys to select in between some maps at times, maybe it has something to do with that

Yeah, probably.

Bumping this because it's still happening for me
TheVileOne
Confirmed it via the arrow method.

I have the same problem too, but it's somehow connected to osu!direct.
peppy
Can't replicate this.

Here is a video of the bug: http://puu.sh/799Kc.mp4

Reporting in that once a song ends in the menu it doesn't restart. Might be a different issue though.

This starts to happen for me too.
Raging Bull
idk if its related. But lately even leaving a map selected in the menu will not loop after the song ends.

I found the cause of osu! not playing the next track (or not looping on song select)
Its probably due to osu!direct previews...
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open osu!
2. Play any song on osu! menu.
3. The song will keep playing.
4. Click any random songs from /np's in the chat.
5. Let the previews to play.
6. After preview, let the original song before osu!direct preview continue play.

Excpected result: It should proceed to the next track or loop in song select menu.
The actual result: The song does not loop
TheVileOne
It is certainly not. osu! just doesn't play a new track after the current one finishes.

Bump. Happens every time I click a link to open a song in osu!direct, then either download it or cancel. The next song will not play without manually clicking next until I restart osu!.
Nwolf
still happening, it's kinda annoying when you enjoy listening to osu music while doing other stuff ;_;

i have pushed a very tentative fix for this with my other osu!direct changes
Piine
Well I can conclude that this issue is still happening in the latest cutting-edge build.

Ok, I finally found a way to replicate this:

1 .To be sure everything works as planned please restart osu! if you have it open rn
2. When osu! opens pause the song thats playing
3. Press the window key on your keyboard and open something like your browser and just do something like go to the osu page and click some stuff idk
4. Go back to osu and play this map https://osu.ppy.sh/b/490316?m=0 ( I picked this one cause it's short and its preview point is near the end of the song) smoke weed
5. Pass the beatmap and quickly go back to the main menu and do step 3 again
6. Wait for the song to finish and there you have it...osu! doesn't play the next track

This worked for me atleast...
TheVileOne
This seems to be resolved. I can't replicate on cutting edge.

Issue(s) in this thread have been addressed by the following changes:
  1. Fix music control not resuming track when audio resumes. (TheVileOne)
The changes will be applied to builds newer than b20150813cuttingedge.

Please follow up in this thread if you believe more work needs to be done to fix the mentioned issues. If they have not yet been resolved, please provide any new details that may have arisen after this build.

I think it could be great to add an option for looping the track.
