Me and nekoroll are planning at 10PM EST right now.
I have a retreat that starts on Friday and ends on Sunday. I will probably be home by then, but I will ask the organizers to make sure. Right now that's pretty much the official time we settle on, but I will try to confirm this as soon as possible just to make sure nothing stupid happens.
As it says in the OP, play the hardest difficulty of every set, unless otherwise specified.Floks wrote:
Sorry if this isn't obvious, but when we choose a map to play, what are the guidelines.
I'm assuming no mods, but is there a difficulty requirement for each map? Or are all difficulties available for the listed round 1 beatmaps?
AngelHoney is the highest difficulty in Votarum stellarum. Extreme is harder than Advanced (as per jubeat) and Another is harder than Hyper (as per beatmania). I do think it's silly not to have all the difficulties specified in the OP, so I'll talk to Sync about it.Floks wrote:
Ok, and what determines the hardest difficulty? Lowest on the map list? Or the one with the highest ranked score? I guess how do extreme, another, advanced, angelhoney, etc. rank against each other?
Edit: I just don't wanna pick the wrong dif by accident xD
I was thinking that too. I think 1 or 2 of the maps have a hyper diff lower then the another diff. I always just thought hyper was jumpier and another was more streamy. Each difficult in their own aspects.Kyou-kun wrote:

I think it's Sabamiso. But it's debatable, probably.Lybydose wrote:
What is the highest difficulty in Sabamiso then?
I believe its each person gets to pick their own song to play. Each song is played twice. Or we each get to pick 2 songs each, each song played once. In case its 2-2 there is a dedicated song (we don't know of?) that is selected by the ref for us to battle it out to the death with.winber1 wrote:
how does this even work? how will the songs be chosen?
also, if this is best 3 out of 5 how is there going to be a tie? lol

You choose whatever map you want to play from the list of round 1 mapswinber1 wrote:

Read the OP again. Check under the round 1 maps. It's listed there.FishHook wrote:

The person with the highest score wins, regardless of whether or not they fail.Silynn wrote:
Question - since you can now revive while playing in multiplayer, what are the rules regarding fails? Some clarification would be nice.
Me or Kyou for now. We'll find another person.pielak213- wrote:

who is judge?
Hmm, that seems to almost defeat the point of a tournament to me, so I kind of disagree with that responsibility. Well, I personally put more weight on a player's ability to sightread over their ability to play a map many times and get good at it. In any case, I guess I'll have to play through everything to turn off skins and such anyways.Garven wrote:
It'd be nice to leave everything at default but I dunno if there's a way to track at all. I'd say it's more the responsibility of the player to at least practice each possible map beforehand.
Nah, that doesn't sound quite right. I think being able to practice is okay, although it's not something I'm personally up to doing, but I wouldn't stop anyone else from doing it if they felt like it. It's only the funspoiler settings that really throw me off, but I guess I'll just have to go through and play each map at least once for that.Garven wrote:
Although I agree with the sentiment, if you're presented the list of maps to play, that line of reasoning is kinda moot, haha. If you want, we can agree to not practice those maps until the rounds and have the judge choose maps for us for kicks.
Pretty sure those people in OWC get 99% FC during their matches because of praticing.Silynn wrote:

Just delete the files in the folderSilynn wrote:
Ah, another question...
Are there any rules regarding funspoiler settings?
Say, one of the players has played the map before and has 90% dim, no SB and no skin, but the other player has not played it and therefore will be playing without these settings.
Doesn't seem quite fair to me, but I dunno. Is there any way this will be handled or will it just be left alone?
But it's being logged and the information might be used against you!Kyou-kun wrote:

You're allowed to use them. We gave you a list of maps to practice beforehand, so we expect you to take that advantage if you want to use the fun spoiler settings.Silynn wrote:

No. Then 2nd/3rd place winners from past tournaments would be expecting something.Starz0r wrote:

Okay, somebody else will pick.SapphireGhost wrote:
I'm fine with playing on weekdays as long as match scheduling is flexible enough, and it's also more convenient for the tournament length. I still think it's good for someone outside the tournament to select maps, especially a balanced and difficult tiebreaker map. Most stuff seems to be going well, though.
Sync is doing gei stuff like NOT LETTING US PICK THEM so it takes like a million years to get a balanced list since everyone else is a retardwinber1 wrote:
