Why. The Unicode description says

Latin small letter sharp s.

Also since I'm taking German Duolingo, that letter sounds like a /v/.

But why does it look like a rounded B...

(also, I was under the impression that it represented a "double S," which /v/ does sound like)

I took German and i found out it is a double s, although it had to follow some rules.

It means a double s like "ss"

Its called an etzet or something like that
