we need to do something about.. only CTB maps only are not rankable,taiko and o!m are already,i think that our community need to try to help more with ctb maps trying to mod they also try to help more the ctb mappers à.à this is what i think

Okay I've discussed with Kurai about all of this : CtB mapsets are rankable, but you need a diff spread like all other play modes, Kurai suggested about 4 diffs (Something like ENIH, or NIHX would be nice) and also added that it's going to be hard due to lack of modders.

I also want to add that if I finally see more than 3-4 peoples moving their ass for making CtB a real game mode I may consider going back to modding.
Something is talking about modding, mapping, guidelines, and another thing is acting. Some people here knows that very well. Since rankability of CtB so few people moved for it, I'm not pointing anyone I think myself could have done much more mods, but you know it's hard to get motivation when there's only a few people involved so I understand why it wasn't working as it should and I don't blame anyone.

I truly hope something is finally happening here, and I wish nothing but good things about this project for all mappers wich are going to be involved.

They are fun, well mapped and not too over jumped (or if they are, the jumps are not that hard or random).

Deif : I'm not going to map under this build sorry (already tried to map with it. It sucks or/and I suck).

VelperK : It's a matter of taste.

Lally : Imo there isn't pro modders atm, just some with a little bit more experience. Guidelines are simple any CtB player wich understand how the editor and CtB works can mod.

1- They're not random for you, but random for the majority of CtB players. Remember that generally speaking, noobs are majority always in all game modes.
2- Again, if by many you mean like 500 or so, that's good having in mind that there are thousands playing ctb.
3- "the maps should be" is a failed statement, the maps should be mapped the way you wanna map them, not the way the majority are able to play them. Spectator's maps have boring patterns, I don't see them as neither bad or good, but boring; the same way someone might look it as fun, and that's completely fine and thus that's what makes it good! Like, the thing to have in mind is if you get bored or enjoy them while playing. It's not like creating a beatmap in this game mode is "art". it's just putting some circles in the X axis to make them into fruits that will later fall in that position. I dont consider any ctb map to have "interesting patterns", nor mine. I don't think I have a style, I just open up the editor and put some circles on it, while considering the horizontal distance between each other to decide when it's a jump and when it's not, but not accordingly to a predetermined "pattern" or "style".
That's why I say no map should be considered "masterpiece" but rather "fun". But well, if you wanna call them that way it's fine too, just my opinion here.

As far as I played, his maps are just at 2nd place of fun for me (1st place is for Kuzino maps), and if I'm lucky I can even pass them.
There are maps for noobs too and maps for good players only, it has no sense to dislike a map. It's when you can accept everything that you become a good player.
I think his maps just bring us more to understand how far can our skill go, beyond the usual ranked/approved maps.

I called Spec's maps masterpieces cause I have fun with them and if I had to modify something I'll pretty much touch nothing since pretty much all patterns are well designed and have a good consistency with the song. Maybe masterpiece is a strong word but since there isn't enough CtB maps I don't see any problem. Tbh the only map he did I disliked was the talent shredder, it was really different from his others maps imo and it was something like : borring stream/omgbbq pattern/borring stream/omgbbq pattern/borring stream/omgbbq pattern all along the map. The problem wasn't about difficulty of the map, it was about cosistency of the difficulty, I'd rather prefer a consistent but very hard map like yours than the talent shredder.

About your mapping Velp, as I told you I like it and your mapping is required as much as other mapping's style. Imho CtB mapping can only evolve by experimenting new things more or less hard. Actually when I play a map (ctb diff or not) when I see something really nice to play I do not hesitate to use it in the mapping when I have the occasion. You're going to say : but it's just "right/left" everything as already been saw in converted std maps, I'll say no and take as example the very rare 1/4 jumps/hyperdashes (wich are actually kinda screwed with the new hypers), I think there's a lot of things to do with them, and this will only be discovered by experimenting.

i think is better to move this conversation here t/130225 since is not so related here imo

and btw velp i never said that maps are considered masterpieces,no map should be considered as one i think is not the right word to describe they,all maps ctb/standard and so on are made for fun,as far this is why i map,because this is the first important thing in mapping,

BTW, all of my unranked map since 2010, take if you need it. (maybe some of the maps is stupid because of the new hyperdash system.. Sorry but I really too lazy to fix..)
