Why must we derail every thread?

Any good thread, especially the ones made by people that don't regularly post here, gets filled with shit replies and other topics, and any real advice that one tries to give gets buried in a pile of trash and spam. 4/5 new people's threads with potential ended up like shit:

I'm just going to say, why do you still think that these people will change? This thread will just be another in a long line of threads that go to shit, and there's nothing that's gonna change that.

The rule changed helped a fair bit with thread creation spam, but the shitposting group still tries to ruin threads for some reason. Glad to see you don't take part in that stuff though, considering how things used to be

Those who fuck up and post here, DESERVE to get "that" treatment. Every other argument is pure bullshit in my book. Those in charge have done good in giving a brief description of subforums. Now we can't be guided by anyone and being reminded every second that there's is this thing called GD
that's meant for what yall looking for - Post about anything non-osu!, as long as it's quality content. But then again, moderation is partially to blame, cause there have been numerous cases where "serious" threads weren't moved and stayed here. Also, it's one of the reasons why you all cry so much. Just fucking relax and at least TRY to have some fun here.

Dude, please don't hate me, I know you're having fun, and I don't want to restrict that. I'm not out to do anything specific. I knew this thread was gonna being trouble, but I wanted to see where it went, and I can't delete it now, so I'm really sorry.

I don't hate anyone, I'm just honest. Ain't gonna fake and lie/be quiet when something's bothering me. Giving my 2 cents, so someone else can make something out of it.

As a matter of fact, this is one my favorite communities (and i've been in a lot).

You see, what irritated me about this immature attitude (and I hope you can understand it now) is that I grew up with this forum throughout my teenagehood and even though people may have done bad quality posts from time to time, we still treated this forum with the respect that it deserves. From first hand experience, I can really say these guys aren't friends.

As for your viewpoint, I can completely see what you mean. The argument that all non-logical discussion has to come to OT doesn't mean that you can treat it as your shithole, as these guys seem to think. It's actually sad to see that they think this, and even get enjoyment from it. They need to learn to be more considerate of those around them, and stop caring about just their circlejerk.
