Hello, long time no see. I had to take a short leave but your faithful maid is always willing to serve.

I do hope everyone was able to get along in my absence but now we have work to do. Today I will be giving a lesson on thread etiquette to better clean up the posts in this forum, so lets see the shining faces of my class today.

Not quite...

The lesson will begin shortly, I just wanted to make sure that everyone was listening.

Not quite, I'm a maid but I do other things in addition to being a maid.

Everyone here? Good..... Now let us begin the lesson!

To learn proper post etiquette, we must look at what a post is. A mindful message meant to convey a meaningful thought or question. So to begin, we will review the anatomy of a post. Posts must have a subject or a question that is meaningful and either starts a conversation or is relevant to an existing one. Can I get some examples?

No no no! These simply won't do. I mean something along the lines of,
"How do you properly wash clothes by hand?"

Well..... continuing on, we will cover how to respond to a poster. Your responses should be polite and to the point. They usually don't have to be too long unless the subject matter calls for lengthy responses. For example if I were to say,
"Hello, how is your day going?" How would you respond.

Your slightly pixlated posts and snide remarks are a good example of a bad poster children. Please take note of this.

I'm afraid that I don't know what you mean, I do not drop things so easily.

Well I would be willing to stop and continue the lesson as long as there is no more insults and slander being thrown my way.

Your post did contain a subject and was relevent to the content being discussed, but it lacked a action and a direct object. A post such as "I want to drink bleach," would have been proper post etiquette but I give you 2/3 for effort and for being the most improved in class.

Also kudos on making a proper post although it is somewhat disconnected from the subject matter.

Well of course, I could never keep my masters waiting.

Now that we've covered the anatomy of a post and how to write a response, we'll cover making a thread or starting a conversation. Since this board is for no particular topic, we can discuss a verity of things. But we must make sure to keep within these guidelines....
* Relevant
* Relatable
* Interesting

If we use the principles or RRI we will always have an inviting thread that gets discussion. Does anyone have a thread title that would fit in the principles of RRI?
