So I've Just started to have lag spikes recently and I have no clue what the deal is. It is only in osu! tho so I would like to figure this out. Playing harder maps is almost impossible since I can't hit the notes because of the lag and during the slider it also goes backwards in time it feels like. I have a uploaded video of what it looks like https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=111&v=oGSSzXa7I_s . The lag happens at 0:48 and 1:15. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to stop playing the game but its impossible to improve.

Edit: By out of game I mean before i even play a map. I can hear it in the music.

Try using an Unlimited Frame cap, you can do this by pressing the F7 key or going into the settings. Also check if you have any outdated drivers.

This didn't work and all my drivers are updated. I also thought this was the problem, so it was the first thing I tried before coming to the forums. It also started to happen when i was on Unlimited, that's why the youtube clip was in 120 fps, since i was reading other posts about trying to fix things such as this.

You could try setting a custom frame limit in the config file. Maybe a 1000 or 800.

I am also having the same problem but it has only just started after the most recent update.

Ok, so i think the update today just fixed it.

The only thing that occurred in the most recent update was the addition of Seasonal backgrounds.

It's more than likely whatever program was causing issues stopped causing issues or something automatically updated that you happened to miss from before.
