Problem Details:
osu! is crashing whenever I start it with the error "System.Exception: Unsigned executable!"
repair osu! also won't work as it crashes with that error too
the osu installer also won't start because apparently that also crashes with the same error.
I also tried downloading an osu!.exe file but it still crashes with that error.
few days ago it wasn't crashing. it just started crashing today.

edit: i used the old installer, fallback works but once i update it does the same crash again

osu! version: 20171227.2 (latest)

Restart your computer, make an exception for osu! in any antivirus software you may be using/completely disable it (at your own risk).

If fallback works, something to check would be graphics drivers. Try updating/reinstalling them. Also make sure you have the latest .NET framework installed.

Instead of replacing the osu!.exe inside your osu! folder with the old installer, replace it with the current installer: https://osu.ppy.sh/home/download. Before running that, delete the "osu!.cfg" file in your folder (the one without your PC name in it) and make sure the file is named osu!.exe.

If none of these solutions work create a new folder on your desktop and install osu! to that location, then make sure you run the osu!.exe file in that folder when starting the game.

if you use windows 7 you need to Install this update Windows6.1-KB4019990-x64.msu. After that install .NET Framework 4.7

Install any pending Windows updates that you have. That tends to be the cause of this issue.
