[Archived] Osu! updater stuck in loop

Problem Details: Earlier the game closed it self, started updating and the updater got stuck in a loop. It starts are ~39% and updates until ~80% until saying 'an error occurred!..' and retrying.
I did try adding an empty help.txt but it did nothing, though the file was deleted every time it retried.

Can you try to go back to Stable release stream? Go to your osu!.cfg and change _ReleaseStream to Stable.

It said Stable40 actually but i changed it to Stable with the same results.

Then try to change it to CuttingEdge and see if it works...

Same problem as me, i've made a topic that explain better what is going on

i've also found a "solution" which is to install the game with the offline installer in a "trash folder" and them move every .dlls files in the trash folder to your osu!folder without replacing ANY of your actual files in your osu!folder ( by doing that you'll just copy every missing files and not replace your .db files )
( save your folder before doing this if something goes wrong )
also @peppy : restarting the computer doesn't work, i've already tried this + chkdsk ( i first thought of an hdd error )
