As this option states " Override any custom skin while editing. The default skin is recommended when editing to check overlaps etc.

The majority of people that map use their custom skins to play and this is a very helpful option. However some of them (including me) use a different cursor size than 1x depending on their skin cursor. Some use smaller and other use bigger. Here comes the "issue".
When testplaying/autoplaying a map in editor the default cursor uses the player's already set cursor size multiplier and this can be annoying as some may use 0.5 or 2.0 ( like me )

Since this option uses the default skin when you are in editor it would be really nice to also temporary change your cursor size multiplier to 1x while you have it opened and then change it back to its old value when the mapper is done and want to go play some maps :)

I know you could set your cursor size multiplier to 1x , map and then set it back to your previous value but its the small things that make osu easier to use.

There are many ways for this feature to get implemented ( don't know which one is easier to code ) so i will drop a few ideas:

1. Save the player's "cursor size" multiplier value in a file temporary , then change it to 1x and bring it back to its original value when the player exits the editor.

2. Add an "Editor cursor size" option under the "Cursor size" so the player can set any value he feels comfortable with when editing using the default skin"

3. Have an "editor-cursor.png"which's size is fixed (like the default "cursor" ) to be used in editor and which's size is no affected by the "cursor size" multiplier

Hope you guys like the idea.

Thanks for reading and sorry if it has already been requested, i did search.

Can't you change the size or cursor.png by yourself so you don't even need a miltiplier?

Then why is there a cursor size multiplier in the first place?

Idk
I was kinda surprised when it got added actually, cause I see no use in it, unless you don't know what size is good for you

^ That cursor wow that's far too big ;_; (Cursor as big as CS4 hitcircles)
I'm using x2 cursor with my skin to get a smooth cursor trail. I think editor should use default x1 cursor when displaying with default skin cause default skin cursor x2 is far too big. Support.
