[Archived] Error when installing

I downloaded osu! about 3 months ago without any problems. Recently though, i had to restore my computer back to factory condition, meaning i would have to reinstall osu!. When i tried to reinstall it though, i got this error
I meet all the requirements with 1.8ghz processor, close to a gig of total physical memory and .Net Framework 3.5
I skimmed briefly through the forum and found 2 similar topics, but no solutions provided worked for me. I tried running through osume.exe but it wouldn't respond when i tried to open it. I have no clue why I'm having issues downloading it now, so any help would be appreciated.

Try getting the .NET 2.0 framework (x86) anyway.

If all else fails, put osume where you want to install osu! and run it.

I'm not sure that I want to install .NET Framework 2.0, especially because I'd have to uninstall 3.5 first, and if it doesn't work I'd have to uninstall 2.0 and reinstall 3.5. I'd like to know how likely installing 2.0 is going to work before i go through that much trouble.

I missed that part.

Re-installing .NET wouldn't be a bad idea, and could fix the problem. Could.

After some consideration I decided that re-installing my .Net Framework is not the best idea, and would rather wait until I find another solution. Seeing as how my Framework came with the computer, I doubt it has any problems, and I doubt it would be the cause of my problems installing osu!. So either there is another issue preventing me from installing osu! or osu! doesn't want to cooperate with 3.5.
