1. I wanted something that was kinda like my Guitar Hero/Rock Band comfort zone -- I knew about osu! since a few years ago, but never actually played until very recently. I actually found out that osu! had a mania mode from a Staiain video.

2. 4k, definitely

3. DF JK

4. Three months (started right after the New Year)

5. Rissyu - uni, The Quick Brown Fox - Big Money, pretty much anything that's been on SDVX (Bangin' Burst in particular)

6. Anything that doesn't involve chord-streaming or too many sustains

7. Solo

8. Halogen, probably

9. Spy, probably

10. Mostly ranked, but I have quite a few weird unranked maps (The Italian Crack Job sticks out as a specific).

1. I love rhythm games. I played rock band and other various games for 8 years and became one of the top players for the community. But that got boring to me and I discovered osu through a ex-guitar hero player named Tob3GH3. I loved the general idea of osu and got hooked immediately.

2. My most comfortable keymode right now is 4k. I play 2-3.5 star beatmaps.

3. The layout i have right now is df jk

4. I've been following osu! for a while now but I never played till I got my laptop. Ive been playing osumania for about 2 weeks now.

5. my favorite osu song to listen to? probably freedom dive just because its pretty catchy :P my favorite map too play is probably Electric "Sister" Bitch

6. I'm really good with stairs. Those are really fun for me.

7. I'm more of a lone wolf for self improvement. I'll probably get into multiplayer when i get a bit better.

8. My favorite Osu player is Tob3Gh3 for introducing me and Staiaind just because hes a God.

9. I've never really paid attention to mappers :/ but the one that I see often is Fullerene.

10. I prefer ranked maps just because I dont have to worry about the mapping to be wrong/ messed up or not.

11. Osumania is bae and I cant wait to see how much I'll improve in the future :D

I try it too.

1: I saw the osu!mania World Cup 2014 and there was a REALLY cool song. This one
I wanted to play it so bad so i started with osu!mania and it was really cool so I stayed here.

2: Hard to say, i played only 4K for a very long time but started with all other key modes few month ago and all are really cool!
Depend on the song i would say 4K and 7K :)
Maybe i should mention that i use Co-Op for 4K (SplitStages)

3: For 4K i use "D F K L" for 7K i use "S D F Space K L Ö".

4: Since August 2014, pretty that time when i started with osu!

5: Like mentioned in 1. It's siromaru + cranky - Conflict (Vocaloid Ver.) <3

6:Fast Bursts! I love to type so fast as i can on the keyboard haha.

7: Depend. I mostly play solo but i also love to play with good friends some multiplayer :)

8: Oh wow, to be honest, i don't have any favorite mania player. I never really look at score board or at ranking.

9: My favorite osu!mania Mapper.. hmm.. i have some more. __M A S__ Makes REALLY fun maps, i love them. In 4K i really like Spy's Maps, they are pretty cool to play. In 7K i like shionelove's and yoshilove Maps. While i hate in 4K LN's i love them in 7K haha. They map them really good!

10: Both! Mostly i just play songs i really like. But there also really a lot of fun unranked Maps.

I've been a GH/RB player for ages, wanted to play more music games and I liked this one the best.

4k (I've barely played anything else, want to get into 7k)

ZX 23 (numpad)

About 1,5 months I think, played a bit of Stepmania before it

I have to say Miiro, because I grinded that song for hours when I started out and it was stuck in my head for a good while.

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?
Single note streams and stairs, hitting some nice bursts is always satisfying

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Solo, MP is fun too but eh

AlexDest because he got me into SM and he is an absolute beast, doesn't matter that he doesn't like osu!Mania so much, and Hyyppaah because lol haha memes :^)

I don't really pay attention to this yet.

I've only played ranked maps so far, but I'm prob gonna try out some of the SM packs available

I really love those kind of games, and in 2012, my friend showed me osu! :D

It reminded me of guitar hero. I used to play it so much on my laptop, and when I found out osu had a mode that was like it, I automatically fell in love with it.

2. What is your favourite keymode?
I am tied between 4k and 5k

3. What is the layout of your favourite keymode?
4k: j, k, down arrow key, right arrow key. 5k: j, k, l, down arrow key, right arrow key.

about 3 months now. I didnt take it very seriously when I started out, but have been playing almost nonstop the past month or so.

I tend to change my layout around a lot, but currently I'm using DF Num5Num6

Around one and a half year now

Mostly charts from Stepmania, but out of the ranked songs we currently have, I really like Hydria's "Dot", aswell as [ S a k u r a ]'s "Worlds End, Girls Rondo", Marirose's "B.B.K.K.B.K.K." and Tidek's "Burn this moment into the retina of my eye".

Complex jumpstreams

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
Solo because there is always this one guy who picks maps that are so shitty that you have to delete them all afterwards

This is a hard one, every mapper has stronger and weaker maps, but I think overall I like Feerum's and Ichigaki's maps the most.

1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
- I was showed the game by someone else, and the game caught my interest. I didn't immediately play the game, though - I started the game once, quit for about 10 months, and then came back to it with the intent of actually staying this time around.

2. What is your favorite keymode?
- Despite being a 4 key main, my favorite keymode is definitely 6 key. Unfortunately, there's not quite as much content out there for 6 key as there is for 7 key. It is what it is, though.

3. What is the layout of your favourite keymode?
- I use QWE/789 for 6-key; giving that separation on the hands makes things a little easier for me to handle overall.

4. How long have you been playing osu!mania? (not including other games)
- I think it's been close to 2 years now? I've got scores on my YouTube channel that are from mid-2014, but I think I was playing before then as well.

5. Which osu!mania song do you like the most?
- I'm not entirely sure how to answer this, because I don't ever like to attribute a single piece of content as something that is my favorite - however, I will say that I definitely love Flexo123's PLVCK [Extra]. It's hardly the best map in terms of accuracy/structure, but it's a hyper-bursty map that I almost always warm up with and I've come to like it more and more.

6. What is your favourite type of patterning?
- Jumpstreaming for days.

7. Do you prefer to play in multiplayer or solo?
- I prefer playing multiplayer than I do solo; meeting new players is always a fun thing and I enjoy talking to those who might not have had the chance to talk to me before. The problem that I eventually come across with multiplayer revolves around players not having certain maps and having an incredibly slow connection, making the gameplay experience subpar. Even with that, I still enjoy it.

8. Who is your favourite osu!mania player?
- There's no way I'm going to be able to answer this. I am fond of too many players to want to just name one.

9. Who is your favourite osu!mania mapper?
- Same as #8; there's no way that I'm going to be able to answer this, as there are a number of mappers that I am fond of - in fact, mapping is something that I really enjoy seeing from players, because I care more about a mapper's effort to make their own interpretation of a song compared to something that is "high quality", which is always argued upon anyway.

10. Do you like to play unranked or ranked maps?
- I prefer unranked maps, because there's more freedom. Some of the craziest SV/LN maps will never be ranked because of our current ranking criteria standards.

11. Do you like osu!mania? :)
- Yes, I do, and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

1 : I found it easier to rank up in than Standard, and i was very good at guitar hero so when i found this aside from Standard i enjoyed it already

2 : 4K

3 : XC NM

4 : 3 months (approx)

5 : MDx2v3 (it's an unranked map, but the music <3)

6 : Jumptrills for days !

7 : Solo for sure

8 : I have many. Yip or Pope or Nick <3 And lots more

9 : Fresh Chicken For sure

10 : A Mixture of Both

1: I was pretty much sick and had to find something to distract myself with. I played Osu! before but never really got far into it since I couldn't play STD well, but when deciding to figure out Mania it kinda just sucked me in.

2: 5k, but no hate on the others.

3: I use the default settings, so guess I have to nominate them, for whatever #K it's on.

4: Almost a year? I think it was late fall or winter last year that I started getting into Mania, and have been playing it since whenever I hop on Osu! (with occasional CTB and Taiko.)

6: Usually when there's a mixture of longs and singles on the side lines.

7: Multiplayer, but the majority of my friends don't play Mania, so mostly in solo anyway.

8: Ehhhh, there are names I could recognize as very pro players, but I don't really know them so I don't have a "favorite." Probably would if I knew the community more.

9: Similar case to my previous answer, and the fact that I need to check out more mania maps.

10: Ranked. I've yet to touch any unranked maps.

11: Yes, my favorite game mode.

I had to quit STD due to pain in my aiming hand, but I didn't want to quit this game so I first started playing converted songs in mania.

Currently SDKL, but I change it from time to time.

1. I already played Osu!std and as it got awful for me i stopped playing it but as i came back i play osu!std for 1 month than i saw staiain playing
stepmania in AGDQ and i knew you could play something like that in osu xD

I switch between both, ranked maps are good but it lacks personality and a lot of creativity. Unranked maps show off what mappers can do when they are not restricted to a specific criteria (i.e. dump charts)

Favourite keymode is by far 4k, but recently I have started enjoying 7k and 5k as well, even though I suck at them.

I decided to play Osu!Mania when I saw the performance of some of the players in the MWC 2015 in which I told myself, I want to be just like that(:P). I started out with Osu!standard but later got bored with it which made mania more compelling, with the promise of no tedious combo score or hp drain which even when I was a noob I thought was just silly.

Data has it that I got a high concentration of key presses, primarily in 4 keys ;)
I also enjoy 7K and surprisingly 5K(Try it, it's fun).

Tokyo Teddy Bear, because of it's non-inflated hard difficulty, also because the song is fun. Shoutout to AiAe and Grief&Malice.

Jump streams/Chord streams. I used to hate it a lot since it used to be my worst pattern but due to the pure nature of me I simply made it my best and strongest pattern(and I'm loving it).

Solo because I can get a more in depth look at my score and compare it to other and I can keep the rate of song going at a much faster pace without having to worry about players dl, readying up etc. I still enjoy a good multi run with some of my friends as you can often shit talk back and forward(all for fun of course ;) )

As a Scandinavian I would have to say Staiain

Probably Fullerene- or IcyWorld(These two are mainly SM players so idk). Otherwise I don't pay much attention to player name unless they give me huge trouble... Calling out Cadmium-113!

Most of the good songs in my skill bracket are in unranked so it would only be natural to answer that as they tend to be hard and not difficulty inflated by adding stupid jack/roll/(lol let's just spam the screen with notes) sections.

I think it has some major flaws with the pure nature of the star system which encourages shitty ranked maps to be developed and ranked. Not to talk about the large ignorance of Mania by the developers which in my opinion is a huge waste of opportunity. Plus the game lack basic feature such as speed rating(seriously I would enjoy the game 70% more if they added this) and let's not get ourself into the PP system. However I can't say I don't enjoy this game as PP is certainly satisfying to get while competing against other players. Not to mention all the different amount of people I've met through this game. It's overall leaning towards a positive side but can still worked upon.

Played mostly standard for a while and reached a point where it wasn't really fun to play anymore and was frustrating. Mania was interesting and less stressful :o though it's likely I'll run into the same skill issues, but I'll try to fix them by focusing on playing fun maps and improving.

I used to play o2jam in my middle school-highschool days and i have been in love with rhythm games ever since. found this game and start playing it!

eventhough I came from 7K, I love 4K more now.I stopped playing o2jam for 3 years and when I tried to pick it up again, my fingers cant move as fast as I wanted too in 7K, but when I tried 4K, my fingers works just fine. Till this day, I still wonder why.

1. I took an interest to Stepmania and Beatmania and wanted to expand my rhythm game horizons (favorite genre)

2. 4 Key, tried to learn 7 Key but that didn't work all that well.

4. I'd say about half a year? Give or take around there

5. Oh this is a tough one, in terms of song I'd say "Dragonforce - Chemical Interference", in terms of chart I'd say "Dollscythe - Flashes"

6. I love Jump Trills, and Staircases / Chains. If I could acc them I'd love them even more.

7. If I had a group of people to play multi in I'd love multi, but for now it's just me soloing xD

8. Jakads because he's pretty funny and laid back.

9. I don't really have one, never paid much attention to them.

10. Depends. There are great unranked and ranked maps.

11. Yes I really do. But I have some latency problems that cause me to question if I like it... it really sucks. Hope to get these fixed or get around them.

1. Why did you start playing osu!mania?
So I played guitar hero, got to the point where even playing on expert became pretty easy and I needed more of a challenge. So a few years went by and I heard of a game called ffr. Got really into the game and got pretty good at it. Around this time a friend of mine suggested I should play osu but I paid no attention to it. So I finally hit a wall and couldn't get better but I still really wanted to and that's when I remembered my friend suggesting I should play osu. I then gave this game a try and fell in love with it and now I play it way more then ffr. Still play ffr once in a while for memories though. Good times.

1. Wanted to play a VSRG, was planning to getting better at 7k, but 7k doesn't have the right feel on o!m.

3. X C / R-Shift (they feel lighter on my kb), but I switch over to D F J K whenever I feel the need to reset my muscle memory.

4. Since July 2017, been on and off since I can't find days where I feel a natural high.

6. I've been playing non-technical streams and JS files to help me read denser maps.

7. Hard to improve in MP and people take like 3 hours to select another song; really kills your flow.

8. I'm more of a fan of old school O2Jam/FFR players

9. Not really o!m, but Icy and Leo137 because there's actual consistency in difficulty and they don't hide the difficulty of the song until some part at the end like every other 5 minute o!m map lol

10. Been playing more Etterna; the LN difficulty from the density really stacks up at mid-3* in ranked maps. Also, fuck the SVs.

11. Star system sucks, lag-spikes, meh.
