Problem details:

Hi I recently switched to a dual boot on with linux but no matter what i tried windows beat linux at osu! Even lazer runs better at windows with less ram than linux.

My pc is pretty old so stable gives ~300fps while lazer is about ~220 with vulkan.

And I was wondering is vulkan on osu!stable still considered cheating?

I'm fine with 300 or 220 on lazer but i really want to squeeze dry to get the most performance on this ancient potato that I call machine.

I really want to give it a try although dunno if vk will even help.

EDIT : i just update my driver which was from 4 years ago and now windows is running at 300-400fps on lazer

osu! version: Stable 20250815 (latest)

it's not "cheating", but any modifications to the code or running of the game client may be detected as such by osu!s anticheat.

If you need to use vulkan, why not use Lazer?

To get more fps, also for some reason stable gets a way lower latency.
