I want to improve in Osu Mania, currently my level is between 4 and 5 stars (depending on the map) and I want advice to improve my level. Any advice?

Are you having any problems with anything in specific? If not, literally just play more.

I want to improve my finger speed, I have the mental capacity to play 5-6 star maps but my fingers are very slow

im having same problem with finger speed (and for past 2 mobths slow improvement) and all i really did is play more. physical stuff has got nearly nothinng to do with mental so just go play alotta maps. check hand/arm technique while playing to make sure youre fine

the most straightforward way is just playing cj. Might be boring as hell though (depends on what type of player you are)

What I find most useful, is looking at my average BPM barrier when it comes to specific patterns. I'll play maps of my average to obtain my ideal accuracy (98-99%) for warmup, then slowly ramp up the speed that isn't in my comfort zone. To me, it has proven to be the most healthy way I can progress.

Also have to keep in mind of different terminology of patterns.. so, for example, the difference between light jumpstream/dense jumpstream. You'll guarantee have a different average to both.

At all levels of gameplay you need to learn to relax.

The looser you are the faster you will be, but the harder it is to control precisely which is pretty much one of the biggest problems you'll face in mania period.

So to increase your speed you'll either A build slow and fast twitch muscles to increase stamina so you don't need to go loose

Or B you play maps progressively starting with bursts then short sections slowly increasing the length and complexity of the patterns to train your focus and precision (which is exceedingly hard when you don't get enough sleep)

Both are good paths for you to build on as any good mania player should be able to do either at a very high level but choose to excel in one or the other

What u mean by 'so you don't need to go loose'? It sounds like the opposite of what u said at the start, or am I missing something?

I get the idea but I'm confused how u do that? Do u just hope the map only has 1 short hard section or something. Or replay a hard map alotta times? Or something else.

i think for A he meant either you learn to relax or learn how to handle being constantly a bit tense and for B he means to just try map beforehand or watch on yt or smth
