[osu!stable] Frequent complete computer freezes during osu! sessions

When I’m playing, everything runs normally at first, but at a random moment—usually when I’m playing a map—my entire computer completely freezes. The sound keeps playing, but I can’t do anything. Even commands to reload the graphics driver or disconnect the session don’t respond, and I’m forced to do a hard shutdown.

This has been happening for several months, but it’s becoming more and more frequent. Lately, it often happens several times in a row: after restarting my computer, the problem comes back again within just a few minutes of playing. Often, when the freeze happens, I see multicolored pixels appear on the screen and the image becomes completely distorted.

I want to point out that I play many different games and use various software, but this issue only occurs with osu!. I’m on Windows 10, all my drivers are fully up to date. My PC is a well-cooled desktop with an AMD RX 5600 XT, 32 GB of RAM, and an i9-9900K. osu! is installed on a 1 TB NVMe SSD, so there shouldn’t be any obvious reason for this kind of problem.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that some maps from my library disappear. Sometimes I lose maps that I was sure I had, and even after reinstalling them, the issue occasionally happens again. (This isn’t related to the freezing issue, but I thought I’d mention it anyway.)

osu! version: Stable 20250815 (latest)

Does it happen on stable, lazer or both? Also try using DDU to completely wipe your GPU drivers and then reinstalling them.

I think this only happens on the stable version in my case. I’ve already tried fully uninstalling my GPU driver in different ways, but nothing has changed, it still happens frequently :/
