[question] Didn't miss, but it felt like I did.

In this map, scores/5417238685, it says I have 0 misses but my max combo is not the full combo and I swear I heard the miss sound half way through the map.. Can someone explain to me what happened?

It happened in this play too, scores/5417432434.

Afaik slider breaks do not make you break combo.

Sliderbreak is when you move your cursor away from the sliderball (the circle you need to keep your cursor in a slider) for too long or release the key you tapped the slider with. You don't complete the slider this way and the game breaks your combo when this happens.

When you drop a sliderend, you're missing the end of the slider. Even tho technically you didn't fully complete the slider, the game won't break your combo for this.

Ok so basically if the slider doesn't have ticks it won't break your combo if you release too quickly in the middle, but if it does have ticks and you release before the tick then it will break your combo but not give you a miss if I understand it correctly.

Yeah that's basically it.

The slider is counted as a miss if you don't hit any of the ticks (This is for stable, i don't think its the same for lazer). If you miss the slider head it will be counted as a miss even if you hit all the ticks. If the slider has no ticks then you just need to hit the sliderhead. It will not be counted as a sliderbreak if you miss the sliderend. In any case missing a slider tick will break your combo but missing a slider end will not.
