For better or for worse, TWC 2025 has seen the abolishment of notepad gimmicks for good. I thought this would be a great opportunity to showcase what the average gimmick map looks like now. Let's jump right into it
j9fqo80fdgcr (how do you even pronounce this bro) is a TWC 2025 Semifinals gimmick map, although there's a fun twist to it. No yellow notes, no barlines, no unorthodox gimmicks. You might be wondering: "How do you even engineer a gimmick slot for Semifinals without notepad editing???" SV, SV, SV, and SV. There's only so much I can explain via this newspost, and you're definitely gonna have to play the map yourself, but be ready for flying notes and doublets, extremely low SV, awkward SV with snapping changes and continuous slowdowns.
Believe it or not, it's also time to welcome an absolute mapping legend into the Loved category — roufou. It's actually crazy that a mapper who's on the mapping team of basically every taiko tournament still hasn't had his Loved debut. You might recognize him from Fractured Angel, Karasu, SCREW // owo // SCREW or Get this drums.
