soooo, i kinda got into playing osu because some fast beatmaps gives me an opportunity to feel that strange "freshness of mind" state :)
what is your reason to play osu? or some thing that got you into playing? i`m really curious to hear stories of different people :/

I'm honestly don't remember why, even tho many people asked that, I still can't remember how I found that game.

But playing to this day just because game is fun! That's it.

Thank you for posting this!! I thought I was crazy for finding comfort out of a rhythm game of all things.

I hit a super low point in my life shortly after getting into osu. Turning my brain off and just vibing to music and clicking circles got me through sooo many long nights.

Helps me get my creating urges out. Mapping, storyboarding, skinning. And grinding ranks after coming home feels good.

I've always liked competitive games, but most of them are team games and if you do something wrong, it might ruin the game for your teammates. I like osu! so much because if I do badly on an osu! session, I know it was my fault and my fault only.

I had this poll up in my server a while ago, and those who voted (sample size only 12) overwhelmingly believed that most 4 digit (and better) players are depressed.

Transcription of the poll question: "This is an old comment -- but this phenomenon seems like something that would be consistent across time, since it's about the nature of the game. Do you think this is true?" (9 of 12 voted that yes, this is true)

Transcription of the attached image (the "old comment): "i feel like the majority of top 10k players have some sort of depression because osu is a way to relieve stress from life and stuff. i'm glad he's doing stuff though he seems like a really good guy"

My personal experience doesn't really align with this (there isn't too much correlation between how much I play osu and how depressed/down I am feeling), but your viewpoint is certainly not rare.
