Below are some of the rules and guidelines that should be considered when posting in this forum.
Rules
[1] Every project that includes downloading and installing your application MUST be open source. You can make projects open source through a github repository or by pasting the code in codeblocks ([c]code here[/ c]
) on the initial page. You may use other code sharing websites or pathways if you prefer, but the source code must be viewable by the user before they download said application.
[2] New iterations and releases of your application MUST be put into the same thread. This includes but is not limited to minor updates, code fixes, and/or general project updates.
[3] Do NOT make multiple threads for a single online service / application.
[4] Links hosting application downloads MUST clearly depict they will download the application when clicked upon.
[5] This forum is only for discussions pertaining to community developed online services / applications, not for technical help with the osu!clients. For help regarding the osu!clients, those posts should be posted to the Help Forum.
[6] Online services / applications MUST NOT require payment for use.
[7] Online services / applications MUST NOT facilitate anything to break or circumvent the osu! rules.
[8] Posts not about applications / web services are ALLOWED, but should be tailored towards discussing projects, news, meetings, and / or future developments in the osu! ecosystem.
Guidelines for Developers
[1] Posting documentation (if necessary) to successfully run your developed application is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged.
[2] Being available to help troubleshoot any technical issues users are experiencing is highly encouraged. You are posting an application that may run perfectly fine on your environment, but others may need some help or advice.
[3] Including screenshots, outputs, or even error logging in and of your developed application is highly encouraged to not only help the user but also you (the developer) understand where issues are arising.
Guidelines for Users
[1] Downloading anything from the internet can be dangerous, please use self-restraint and look into the source code before downloading. If there is no source code posted, it is best to report the thread or simply not engage with the program until you are certain it is safe.
[2] If a thread is inactive, it might be better to contact the developer directly through PMs or through other means to try and get a quicker response.
[3] Please do not spam a thread with questions, your question might have already been answered or is already being worked on.
