(6-digit 500pp score) is purposfully underranking your self illegal?

im streaming my progress as a six digit attempting to get a 500pp score
(200, 300, 400pp skips)
my current best score is a 186pp on a farm map, but im only 70 misses away on a 13 minutes long 7 star from getting a 500pp score. i believe this is do-able while not submitting any scores in the meantime, keeping my self a six digit.

(for anyone looking at my previous posts, NO i did not go through with the 1000 submitted plays of the unforgiving, but ive been doing this goal (500pp thing) for the last month and waited till now to announce im doing it to make sure i wont just abandon it like the last thing)

really the point of this post is to draw some attention to my twitch stream (/apr1l_osu) where i will be streaming 1-2 hours of osu grinding a day after school. ill be dicking around with some memes and funny drawings. maybe switching over to some of my original music as well! i think im cool to hangout with but i guess we will see.

for the 3 people that read this post. thank you! and for the one guy that actually watches the stream, you'll be able to say "i was here" more times than anyone else when i get the score.

(i actually know the answer to the title question but i think its a good headline to bait nerds into clicking on the thread (im also a rules nerd thats not derogatory))

that look like impossible(now), is not only 70 misses for 0 but also the acc(you will need like 99% acc on this map for 500pp) all this on a 13 min almost 7 star map

well i think it wont be that bad.
considering that ive been trying to PASS that map for two years, and just did it for the first time last month, and then that in about 1 week i managed to get my miss count from 150 to 70 (1/2), it should be pretty easy to get that miscount down. if i half the miscount every 1-2 weeks: 70-35, 35-18, 18-9, 9-5, 5-3, 3-2, 2-1. thats 7-14 weeks, really do able honestly.

i appreciate the challenge though!

This seems like an interesting challenge!

Though as someone currently going for a 500pp score I have to warm you about some things:
Unless you want to farm DT, you need consistency, most 500pp maps require a lot of consistency
Not submitting any good scores will really not help you at all as not fcing even the easiest maps consistently, you will not be able to combo the maps that will give you 500pp
You have to be very careful with how you play, somehow having to play online and not destroy your consistency and also not gain ranks

May luck be on your side with this challenge!

i think the improvement is not linear like it, the important thing is believe in yourself.
you can be mindblocked but if it don't happen you maybe can fc this song in like 1 year
you know the map is hard when the xootynator is the first place on the map

yes unfortunately the improvement isnt as simple as "just play more lol" It is in alot of cases for me but i will need to figure out some way to build combo consistency without getting pp. maybe just playing harder and harder maps, like getting to a rank a 7.4-.6 star, and then the easier 7 star shouldnt be to hard to fc
it really is surprising how much PP https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/1205309#osu/2509953 gives you. its 600 for an SS and ~500 for an FC. but the 7 star section is only about 10-20% of the maps total run time.

i have a discord where i will be posting scores and progress updates, as well as pinging for twitch streams.

I am not familiar with the map, but if 20% of it is 7* difficulty, that's slightly over 2.5 minutes, which is a lot of consistency required already (not to mention the potential for shitmisses on a map 13 minutes long).

I'm not saying it isn't farm, but I think you're underestimating the difficulty.

Dude, if you're that dead-set on being a 6-digit with a 500pp score, just play up until about 100-105K and then go from there.

You're only hurting yourself by not submitting scores, unless you're playing everything offline or quitting out just before songs end. I should know since I'm set on reaching 5-digit without 5* scores, but it's a bit better for me because I can normally play 4* maps to get some reps in (though, with this new laptop I have to sort of relearn some movements as it feels very different than my original laptop) and just farm 200pp maps for that. 500pp IMO is too much of a jump.

One Week update (also a bump)

After doing some "vod review" (CSGO term) i've determined most of my issue in the desired map to be spaced streams. combined with the 200bpm streams, i needed a lot more skill in flow aim and speed.
i've made steady progress on my stream practice maps (I SET A NEW COMBO RECORD!!!)

Current Stream maps:

But i definitely need more practice. id say when i get 85% on 7.3 star stream maps ill be good to move on to other skills for the main map, such as not having 23 shit misses...
if anyone wants to share Spaced stream practice maps/maps with good spaces streams (very different things) that would be very kewl :3

when your that close to the border of 5 digit the achievement kind of loses its value. being deeper into 200k feels more interesting than "oh some 5 digit decided to stop playing for a few months and then claimed they had a 500PP score as a six digit"
- I really do want to avoid offline and quitting out as well, technically i think thats bad to do as well because bancho might not appreciate a random 6 digit going offline for 3 months and then suddenly having 7 star fc's

im not sure what the "best strategy for improvement" is, but i know whatever im doing IS NOT close. and im okay with that.

No offense, but the chance that you set 500 pp at the skill level of a current or near-future 6 digit is precisely 0.0%, if FL is not used. It's hard to say the achievement has any more value if set by a 200k deranker than a 100k deranker, since rank is clearly not even close to an accurate indicator for either player by that point.

That isn't to say that you must rank up to 100-105k, it doesn't matter to me. Just saying that I don't think it changes much in the eyes of anybody else.
