Ryshult's Archived Waste Recycling - a 4v4 TS8, 5k-50k Swiss-like Draft tournament

Discord | Main Sheet | Rules | Player Signups | Staff Signups

Tournament Format
  1. This tournament is only available to players between rank #5.000 and #50.000, with no rank buffer and enforced BWS | formula: Rank^(0,98^(Badges^1,25)), you check the difference between this formula and the commonly used one here.
  2. 16 teams of 8 will be competing in 5 rounds of a swiss-like format, with rounds 3 to 5 having elimination matches. The top 4 will then play a single elimination bracket.
  3. In this format, teams can only exit the tournament by losing to another team.
  4. More information can be found in the rules document or the rules sections of the forum post
Mappool Format

/!\ there may not be any ar 8 HD or speed NM, skillsets will still be relatively balanced, through a different mappool structure

The rules displayed here are summarized, check out the full rules document here

General rules
  1. Qualifiers is optional
  2. Players are required to be in the discord to play the tournament
  3. At least 4 players of each team must show up in the lobby for the match to start. They have until 5 minutes after the match time to do so, otherwise they will give their ban to the opponent and leave the pick order to the opponent. If a team does not have 4 players present, 10 minutes after the agreed match time, they will lose the match by default.
  4. When the match begins, both teams will be asked to roll (!roll). The team with the higher roll gets to pick the ban order or the pick order. The team with the lower roll will choose the remaining order.
  5. Ban order is ABBA
  6. NoFail is enforced on every map
Draft rules
  1. The draft order will go as follows until every team have 8 players, including the captain : 1 → 16 ; 16 → 1 ; … ; 1 → 16
  2. Captains of a similar level will be hand-picked by the staff. They will have 2 minutes to draft a player during their turn
  3. The captains will agree on a time to draft during the draft weekend. They are allowed to assign a proxy to draft instead of them if they aren't available at the time agreed on
Matchup & Score
The matchups will go as follows, with each round being side to side, and read from left to right, and top to bottom (divided by the horizontal yellow line):

  1. Matchups in the first round are determined by seeding, which is determined by a game of marbles on stream. Following the first, each team will have a score depending on their performance, which will determine their matchup
  2. In the second round, the bracket will separate in 2, with the winning teams facing each other, and the losing teams facing each other, with matchups depending on their previous round’s performance, as seen on the image above.
  3. Elimination matches will begin in the third round. The teams with the lowest score will play the most elimination matches to get to the next round.
  4. After round 5, 4 teams will enter a single elimination bracket with matchups based on score as showed on the image above
  5. The score will be calculated using mostly the point difference in each match. Losing teams will get from 0 to 0.5 points while winning teams will get from 0.6 to 1.1 points (tiebreaker match vs sweep).
  6. For a more visual example of this system, you can find a copy of the score calculation and matchups here, otherwise you can find the written explanation in the rules document
