how can I play faster (stuck at 240 bpm)

I'm really struggling to play maps beyond like, mid-240 bpm. I think it might be a technique thing where I'm not tapping like I should/using the wrong movement. So I'm wondering, on a mechanics level, how do people play fast?

Also, if you have any recommendations on maps to practice, they would be appreciated!

Just play fast maps bit by bit is a common method. My method tho, I would warm my hands with stamina maps like:
Blue Army by Serial Dreemurr beatmapsets/821870#taiko/1722539
Even my Blue Zenith (Exalted Level) beatmapsets/632613#taiko/1344202

After then, play faster maps.

Or play faster maps than above like:
NS18 by _Rise beatmapsets/508943#taiko/1082388

Can look for katagiri maps also, KTYN and Hoku mapped a lot of them. Salieri maps, and 250-260 BPM maps could serve as a relatively comfortable choices.

Don't forget to not only do speedmaps for finger control sake.

Good Luck. HF

it looks like you have a lot of high acc FCs in your top plays (obviously not a bad thing, your consistency is insane and I'm kinda envious lol) which tells me that you probably aren't focusing as much on pushing your limits. Don't be afraid to get B ranks, maybe some C ranks when you're playing maps beyond your current speedcap. As mp1506 said, make sure you're warmed up, and then just keep spamming speed maps, even if your acc sucks at first. I'd aim for around 88~95% acc on average.

Mechanically, try to look out for any unnecessary movements when you tap -- you want to minimize them so that you don't waste stamina. For the same reason, you want to try to keep your muscles as relaxed as possible, although a bit of tensing is unavoidable when you're playing higher bpms than you're used to.

okkk, thank you both for the advice and maps!! I will be on the speed (and ig anti-acc T_T) grind and hopefully become not as trash at speed 💪

Simple Method:
Get a simple map that you're comfortable at.
After you have warmed up, slowly speed up the map using rate changer (external or lazer's built-in).
When you feel like you can already somewhat play the map and fc, (fc is not required, you just need to know that you can technically do it) it is time to increase the bpm once again.

Complex Method:
Get a couple of maps, they need to vary between simple 1/4 patterns like oni triplets and quintuplets, long pattern/ stream maps and burst maps, like non stream heavy patterns with 1/6.
Speed up all these maps, you will cap at different bpms on these, obviously as you can't play streams as fast as oni like maps.
These will give you variety on your speed practice and you will eventually surpass 240 bpm.
Also make sure you are not able to play the map due to being speedcapped and not reading/reaction time capped.
