Problem details:
When attempting to setup the osu!lazer client or add any beatmaps, the game freezes for a few seconds before closing. No beatmaps appear in the song select menu, it seems to recognize that I have beatmaps on my computer from my stable installation but any attempt to import or share them causes the game to crash.

I've made sure lazer is installed to the correct drive, though I've also tried reinstalling the game on a different drive to no effect. I've also tried backing up and using the previous version of lazer, the same problem occurs. I have also tried manually creating copies of beatmap files in my file explorer and adding them to the lazer directory, but these files are not recognized. I have also tried force closing all other applications such that osu!lazer is the only application running, and run into the same issue.

I am on a Windows 11 PC, osu! stable and cutting edge run perfectly fine, I do not believe performance is an issue here. Not sure what other installed software might be relevant. Any help would be appreciated as I'd like to play on the lazer client but at this point I'm hitting my head against a brick wall trying to debug this myself.

osu! version: lazer 20221227

Could you please report this here and include all of your logs? By default you can find them in %AppData%/osu/logs

A couple hours after posting this I randomly tried setting up a fresh installation AND using the delete all beatmaps button. Despite having no visible maps, the delete all queued up deletion for about 29k beatmaps. After this I've been able to add beatmaps as normal, so it seems somehow despite repeated reinstalls and changing the directory, it was still saving some bad data regarding beatmaps.

Should I still report what happened and post the log files?

You can, but I'm not sure how much the devs will be able to do. They may be able to find the issue, but your log files likely won't contain any useful information at this point.
