Problem details:
Hi,

Last night, when I opened osu!, I was greeted by a login screen which is something that has never happened after initially signing in, which did strike me as strange. After signing in, the game automatically began a full processing of all my beatmaps, which again seemed strange but I let it complete. After this had finished, I noticed that all of my settings had been set to the default ones, which wasn't much of a problem. Now, when I go into song select the game was saying that it was running beatmap difficulty calculations, which I attributed to the lack of scores being shown when I select a song. Unfortunately, even after this had completed none of my local scores are visible in song select. All of my scores are visible under the "Local Rankings" leaderboard but the songs are much easier to navigate when I can see any previous ranks on a map (and my skin changes the colour of the song depending on whether it has been played or not). This is of course frustrating but not the end of the world. The bigger problem is that I noticed a song which I played last night after the "reset" of my osu! settings had not been submitted, even though it was showing in my local leaderboards.

I've been looking through old threads + reddit posts about the issue and have tried manually importing .osr files and also running .bat files to mass import them, but this doesn't seem to be working whatsoever. I can see the game opening the score "screenshot" as if I'd just clicked the score in the leaderboards, but this doesn't import the score into my scores.db file (which I have tried removing so a fresh file can be generated, which also didn't work). I've genuinely scoured posts for hours looking for a fix but this but cannot find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated here.

Your osu!.db file is probably broken or in a bad state and will need to be recreated, which can be done by closing the game and deleting it. Doing so should hopefully fix both of your issues at once.

The reason your scores are not submitting is because your beatmap statuses are broken, which are stored in that file. You can tell the statuses are broken by looking at the top left corner of the osu! window. One of these icons should be there, but your first screenshot shows it's missing.

The osu!.db file also stores the best grade you've achieved on a beatmap, not scores.db. I believe I've seen mixed results of this working, but I think the only other way to fix this would be to change your leaderboard type to "Global Rankings" and then manually select each beatmap.

Not really bothered about it but just out of curiosity, what about the scores which were never submitted while osu.db was broken, are they gone forever?

Unfortunately yes. You will need to redo any scores that were not submitted.

my scores dont want to sumbmit and stuff ahnd i have so many new better scores but when i checked my profile it only shows my stuff from a year ago i did and i got so much better and id be happy if it showed on the site too do i have to delete my osu game also and redownload it and when i do will all my beatmaps still be there?

and if it helps i had the game downloaded for bout 3 years straight now bc in 2021 my old laptop broke so i got it back on here in like 2022 and hadnt ever deleted it since, n its up to date to i jst dk if thats the problem
