How do you read AR10.3+ ???

A few weeks ago I reached one of my goals, becoming 5 digit. Stopped farming, tried setting more "unique" scores (compared to my scores you could say they're unique)

Did some HR, practices NM, did lots of tech and stream practice.

I want to learn to read AR10.3+ as my next goal.

I've tried increasing AR slowly for a while now, 9.8, 9.9, 10 etc, but for some reason I can't seem to grasp the idea of reading AR 10.3. Perhaps I'm slow, idfk I just need some advice so I know where to start learning.

Get to the point you can FC 6*+ consistently first. No real point learning AR10.3 otherwise.

But in my experience, I personally think in order to practice high AR, you must realize first that it's not just the raw AR that makes high AR reading hard; it's also the mapping style. I noticed that I am wayyy more comfortable in generic-style maps with simple rhythms than I do with bursty maps or anything >220bpm really.

So what I did is instead of just learning AR in one go, I would split it into two parts
1. Generic Simple Rhythms (farm maps, generic old maps around 170/180bpm after DT)
2. Rhythm Intensive maps (finger control maps, burst, around >220bpm after DT)

I think that it's much easier to be proficient in reading if you first start with the simple ones and moving your way up from there; or at least that's how it worked for me. Hope this helps :3

So, shocker here: the best way to improve at 10.3 is to play 10.3. It's not going to be instant. Learning higher AR's takes a while. One thing you can do is actually go past 10.3 a bit to 10.5. When you come back to 10.3 it seems a lot more manageable.

low bpm AR10.3 at the star range that you're comfortable with is a good place to start

I feel u on this, trying to learn ar10.3 is so demotivating since its so hard, even tho it unlocks like so many maps that I could play

basically dont pay attention to ar values as you play more and more dt maps..

i didnt realize i was reading 10.5 but by that time it was comfortable

also get 144hz

get comfortable with ar10, then try out ar9 + dt on a variety of maps that are somewhat doable for you -> repeat -> raise the difficulty a bit -> repeat -> profit
