Basically, I can full alt jumps, sliders and basically every other patterns, but I am having problems not being able to start burst and streams with my index finger.

I was a single tapper before and I used my middle finger, so I am very used to starting patterns with my middle finger, I have managed to learn alt but somehow I can only start burst and streams with my middle finger.

I have tried to fix it but my fingers just refuse to tap when I try to start with my index finger...

is there a way for me to learn to be able to start burst and streams with my index finger?

Play McOsu and enable the full-alt mod, it does not register keypresses unless you alternate.
Grind this until you feel more comfortable alternating than singletapping.

You have to give your brain more time to consciously alternate before your instinctive reaction kicks in. So, you have to play slower maps until you integrate the habit.

Had a similar issue but it was the other way around (index starts).

I found doing a single basic hand dexterity exercise made a difference in addition to when I was playing the piano at the time.

Use your fingers to go in a 1-2–3-4 order hitting on a table smoothly and going back 4-3-2-1

So wrist flat on surface and fingers raised -> pinky goes down; ring; middle; index -> index; middle; ring; pinky
And eventually I was able to smoothly do this both ways (where I originally could only do from pinky-index).

Did this during uni and work. Pisses people off lol

I want to learn full alt since the maps I play are very hard with single tapping.

wtf when did I say DT?

I'm talking about maps with triple notes back to back.

I think that doing finger exercises really helped me as well, but what I did was tap out consecutive triples, quintuples, streams and sometimes a mix, while full-alternating (you could probably also throw in a few jumps to make it more varied). I would do this pretty much everywhere, on my desk, on my leg, during classes and lectures etc, and it became my way to fidget for a while.

I think that just getting my fingers really used to the general motion helped them know what to do when they encountered a burst/stream ingame. Now I have the opposite problem, even though I can singletap, my fingers refuse to start bursts and streams on the same finger, I always have to fully alternate them.

Outside of that, play low star maps with bursts to practice as well.

Indeed I do not need full alt for that map, however my stamina declines very fast with my current tapping, and learning full alt will help with hitting 3 note patterns easier.

there are also many other maps that I have a hard time with because I can only start burst and streams with my middle finger, so learning full alt will help me very much with playing those maps.

learning triples itself will help more than full alt

Sigh... its not just with triples mate, its for every burst and streams.

there are lots of finger control maps I like that I cant play properly because I can only start with my middle finger. thats why I want to learn full alt.

also I'm starting to think you have something against full alt by how much you don't want me to learn it.

the title of my thread is "Please Help Me With Learning To Full Alt." NOT "Should I learn full alt?"

I have already decided to learn full alt and want to learn how to do it, not whether or not I should learn it.

just learn how to start with index finger. you dont need full alt for that

try starting everything with the worse finger, go down in bpm untill you ccan force right amount of taps.

just practice from ground up, only starting bursts with the other finger.
