I came across a handful of older discussions regarding how to add an image/gif to the me! section of your profile so I'm making this post to clear up any confusion regarding the matter.
Upon trying to add an image and getting "[img:1337][/img:1337]", start by ensuring that the link of the photo you wish to add is from an image hosting site like (imgur etc...)
Let's say for example you the gif/image you wanted to add was "https://imgur.com/3PoeZvF", not only would you have to paste the link but you would have to add either a (.png, .jpeg, .gif) or anything of that nature to the end of it.
For example,
is not sufficient because there isn't a .gif following the link.
