I've recently found out about this and read threads about it being bad if you have it turned on?
(I play with mouse and keyboard and have no plans on switching to tablet)
I've never once turned this off and even on osu I never ever had raw input turned on.
People said it's bad to have it off and to make sure I have raw input on but when I tried playing the usual 4 star maps I play after turning it on, I'm completely unable to play the map. The cursor feels so slippery and a bit too fast.

Should I persevere through it and keep practicing with raw input on or should I just go back to how I usually play ?

I also dislike the thought that I may have to practice lower star'd maps again..

most people including me(although i play on tablet) i think that its a good idea to learn how to play it off. i would try not using it for a week or so altough you may have to play easier maps. if you really cant get used to it you can always try playing without mouse accel on.

I'll try and play with raw input on for a bit then..
Will it pay off in the long run you think?

If it means helping me in the long run, I'm down to do it I guess

for me playing valorant/csgo, i used to play with mouse accel on. but i switched it and my aim sucked at first, but then it got a lot better then it was before. so i think it does.

I'm pretty sure raw input is turned on for Valorant by default tho. Whereas it's turned off by default on osu and I've been playing with it turned off ever since I started

Enhanced Pointer Precision is like mouse acceleration, what it does is it basically checks how fast you move your mouse and the cursor moves accordingly with it. (adjusting the DPI on the go as you move your mouse, something like that)

Moving your mouse fast will make it go across the monitor very quickly, whereas slowly moving it will make it move slowly. It is recommended that it is disabled since it removes the unpredictability that comes with having it on. It may also be the reason why you may think the cursor is too fast and slippery when its disabled, since the speed of your cursor will always be the same no matter if you move your mouse fast or slow.

Raw Input also helps since it basically bypasses mouse acceleration and all the sort that windows does and reads the mouse input directly instead.

I would say try giving it a go for a couple of days, and decide whether or not it is worth the trouble for you. You may have to configure some settings so that the cursor movement/speed feels comfortable for you, such as adjusting your DPI, mouse sens, etc.

I am playing with Enhanced Pointer Precision disabled and raw input on and I find it better compared to having mouse acceleration on since the unpredictability is gone.

It is mouse accelaration. I feel like that in a game such as osu!, there is no place for it. Playing without it makes your aim more consistent in the longterm. There is a reason for it being viable (not more used, but viable. And better in my opinion) in other games, such as CS:GO. Being able to speed up your aim in tight situations with fast mouse movement is beneficial when using a low sens. Flicks and 180s when learned are just as good as with raw input. So the benefit of accelaration comes in long range, where you require small and precise movements. With a high sens that allows nice flicks etc becomes very inprecise here.
Sentorko explained accelaration well, if you just don't know what it is.
In osu!, I highly suggest turning it off, I reckon the reason why you have problem playing with it is because you just haved used it so much up until now. Possibly always. When you get used to linear cursor movement I'd be willing to bet you would see an improvement in aim. I suggest taking accelaration off inside Windows as well, you'd get more used to the feeling better overall. Also when you start up osu!, your cursor would feel different.

It is a preference after all, but I just feel like the evidence stacks up against acceleration being objectively worse in osu! in the end though
