When I try to download beatmaps, I get directed to "how would you like to download this osz. file"

Theres a very odd problem I have... When I tried to download a beatmap, it downloads and gives a popup on the bottom of my screen as it should, and when I right-click it to open it, theres another popup that asks "how do you want to open this osz. file? Please help... I really want to download more beatmaps & use multiplayer mode :\ (btw before this problem I was easily able to download and play maps this just suddenly happened)

If you see osu! on the suggested list of programs, click on it.

If you do not see osu! listed there, click on the "Look for another app on this PC" button and look for your installation directory (by default, it will be located in "C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\osu!"). Then select the osu!.exe file and hit Ok.

1.- Sorry for responding so late, I had to study for finals and didn't have much time.
2.- By "list of programs" you mean the apps that pop up when I open the windows tab on the bottom right coorner right?
(I probably sound stupid lol)
3.-OH I GET IT SO YOU MEAN WHEN I TRY TO DOWNLOAD A BEATMAP YOU WANT ME TO CLICK OSU (its not there)

bruh.
i literally tried to download a beatmap and it worked..?? sorry for wasting your time maybe i had to update my computer or something it literally used to not work i promise

i might know your problem i recently put my osu files in a folder on my desktop now i cant download maps it could be the same with you
