Hi. I've been playing osu! for years now, having mostly sticked to osu!mania rather than the normal, but now I finally decided to play more of the standard game mode.. and I noticed an inconsistency that I find confusing.
The Ranking Criteria.
In osu!mania it was rather clear to me.
100% being SS.
Anything above 95% being S.
And 90-95% being an A.
But the same can't be said about the normal mode.
I played "Moves Like Jagger" by Maroon5 on two stars, having achieved an accuracy of 98,80% with a score of 1.975.272. My combo was 473. I had one miss and 3/3 100s.
But I only received an A?
In another beatmap called "A Battle For Everyone's Souls" by Shoji Meguro on two and a half stars, I received an S with an accuracy of 97,98%, no misses and 5/3 100s. My score on this one was 914,016.
On "World Is Mine" by Hatsune Miku on two stars, I got an accuracy of 93,65%, Score: 185.310. Combo: 107. This one also had no misses but 8/7 100s.
So it seems that the accuracy doesn't matter as much as long as you don't miss? That is what I gather from my data. The moment you have one miss, you are prohibited from achieving an S.
Is that true? Can the miss be saved by getting a 50 or will that result in the same ranking?
