Hi, I'm new to osu and I can't seem to find a comfortable area, do you have a tip for finding a good area? (I have already gone around the other forums that talk about the same thing but I have not managed to find a good area with their tips to put in full area and to decrease little by little, it does not work for me).

Thank you in advance for your answers

I started with a completely random, arbitrary area and just tweaked it til it felt comfortable. I like to keep the side of my hand planted in the same spot whilst playing, so if it felt like I was overstretching to reach the far corners or scrunching my hand up too much to reach the nearer corners I changed it.

You could try using a pen and paper, and just doodle to roughly fill a comfortable rectangle whereby you aren't stretching too far to reach the furthest edge. Measure this and input it as your area (approximately, once you account for your aspect ratio) and you should atleast have a decent baseline to work from. It's just trial and error after that.

Experiment until you've found it.

start playing on a small area (3-5cm width, height should be PROPORTIONAL), later make it bigger. (I'm currently playing in a comfortable area: 115mm width and 65mm height)

just start experimenting until you find one that you find enjoyable

You think my area is okay now?
Nobody can answer that except yourself.

There some people who play well with extremely small areas (2 of my friends does this), there are some of average (mine and another friend) and some are rather big (just look at some of the top players as examples).

This is all up to your level of comfort as tablet area is purely an experiment until you get the results you need. Only you can come up to your own conclusions in the end.

Edit: The area you show seems close to mine, but again, you know it best.

All right. thanks for the answers, I think I’ll keep this area and get better with it. I’ll mark the topic as resolved.
