Please read before you answer with play more

I can play between 3-4.99* somewhat comfortable but what gets me on most maps is in the 4 star range. All of the maps are jump maps. I've downloaded a lot of jumpy maps between Sotarks, reform, and I have been practicing my jumps for about 3 weeks now. Playing almost upwards of 2-3 hours a day (sometimes more) just trying to improve. I feel as if I'm at a stump though because I cannot do the 4* maps strictly because of the jumps nor can I hold a combo because of them. Is there anything I should do that will help me build up towards them or that I'm necessarily missing?

Are you having trouble reading jumps? Going into 4 star maps is a very big step up from 3 stars. It introduces jumps, bursts, and streams, if your having trouble transitioning just play more low 4 star maps to get used to it. Now as for jumping it could be your reading or the way you move your pen.

You can check in your replays to see common mistakes such as over aiming or under aiming. For reading it might easier to look at each individual circle of the jump section instead of looking at it as a whole. Not only that but there are some jump patterns that you might not be used to you yet. Considering your 400k you'll probably have a tough time on patterns like 1-2 jumps or triangles.

Also you have already taken the first steps on improving something your bad at instead of completely ignoring it which is very good. Especially during the early stages of learning the game it's very important that you do not play with bad habits and work on stuff your bad on.

Overall just keep playing those jump maps but not to much, figure out what your doing wrong like over or under aiming, and remember, enjoy the game, and go at your own pace.

Uh... muscle control? Other than that, the only thing I can say is to play more. If you're using a tablet, I'd recommend putting your play area to a more comfortable size or whatever. But uh... Yeah.

If you're asking how to jump physically, then you just need to crouch until your knees are bent out, and push yourself off of the ground. Simple as that!

I understand I need to play more... thats a given but that's not the point of my question. The answer is very redundant if I am making mistakes and bad habits I wont improve. I have been playing more but I couldnt do jump. Thats why I came here to get some tips to figure out things that could give me a little more insight.

play more, but also play smarter.

watch your replays when you miss a jump, see what happened and try not to repeat it. also stick to low 4* maps for now and try to play those for a bit. to be honest, it'll stay for a bit longer in mid-end 3* maps to improve my accuracy. it is quite rough.

How to jump

taken from wikihow...

wear orange shorts and green shoes

sit on a chair

raise your hands in the air, also wear blue clothing.

inhale through nose, exhale trough mouth (wait this isn't how to breathe...)

crap, there are 2 blue guys now, also sit in a imaginary chair.

ummm ok run in a straight line, also wear the orange shirt and green shirt from before

wear some nice white nike's shoes

think of grass

run to the grass

nice shoes

AH there's a doppelganger!

alright I'm done here...
but seriously just play more and practice.

Today, i also came to the conclusion that i lack in snap aim department, and will need mid-high 3* jump maps as well as low 4*. I will need to practice in those. I realized that if i try to analyze my replay on the map, i will be able to see exactly how I missed the note. This way, i will try to increase or decrease the amount of distance needed to hit the note. However i definitely need overall better proficiency in jumping, so i really need 3* jump maps
