4v4 Teams of 8
Score v2
Rank Range: Open Rank BWS, split into 4 tiers based on number of signups
The tournament will start with a qualifiers round with 2 qualifier pools. One for tiers 1 and 2, and one for tiers 3 and 4. This qualifier round will not eliminate anyone, but will show people what your strengths are.
The qualifiers will also help to determine the seeding of teams in the bracket stage.
A week after the qualifiers, the team captains will take turns drafting players from any tier until each team has 2 players from each tier.
Double Elimination starting with RO16
1 ban per team for RO16; 2 bans per team for QF, SF, F, and GF
Roll Winner can pick First Pick and First ban or Second Pick and Second Ban

This is a 4v4, osu! standard tournament
When signing up, you will be put into one of the 4 tiers. These tiers will be based on how your rank with BWS applied (See the BWS section below if you're confused!) compares to the rank of the other signed up players.
In a more controversial move, I have gathered a group of people with a high level of player knowledge who will help me to decide if anyone is too good for a rank range and will ruin the competitive integrity of a tournament.
The first round will be a qualifiers round which will have two qualifier pools, one for the top two tiers, and one for the bottom two tiers.
This qualifier will not eliminate players but will help to show your skill sets.
However, only 64 players will be drafted per tier.
Captains will be handpicked by the staff with 8 captains per tier.
The draft order will be in a reverse snake order until all the teams are filled up.
You can draft players from any tier in any of the rounds.
The team size will be 8 players.
The tournament will hold 32 teams.
The tournament will be played in Score v2.
The tournament will be a double elimination bracket
The Grand Finals match will have a bracket reset if necessary
Match schedules and mappools will be released on the Monday before those matches should be played
Match schedules will be written in UTC. Find your personal time zone and convert your match times here: http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/
Joining the discord is REQUIRED by everyone, or else your registration will not be counted.
After joining the discord you MUST change your nickname to your osu! username.
No staff members are allowed to play except for commentators, streamers, and graphics designers.

The match lobby will be created by the referee, and the team captains of both teams will be invited. The captain is then responsible for inviting the rest of their team. If the captain of a team is not online, the referee will invite any other player from that team, and that player will be responsible for inviting their team.

Teams have a 10 minute grace period to have at least 1 player from each tier available to play the match. If 10 minutes pass and a team does not have enough players to play the match, the other team will receive a win by default.

All matches must be played as a 4v4. Warmups may be played with any number of players from either teams.

Once all players have joined the lobby, captains will be asked to !roll; the winner of the roll will have the choice of ban and pick order as stated above. The order in which the warmups chosen does not matter.

Warmup maps may be a maximum of 3:30 total time.

The referee can give host to the players for warmups only. No player will have match host after warmups. A team will select a map by naming the map in the multiplayer chat, and the referee will select it.

The referee is not allowed to play in the match.

Each team is allowed 1 ban per match (later increased to 2). Banned maps are effectively removed from the mappool for the duration of the match and are not allowed to be picked. A team is allowed to ban 2 maps from the same mod pool.

Teams have 2 minutes (120 seconds) to select a map; if they fail to choose in the allotted time, the map choice will pass to the other team. This will have no effect on the order of picks afterward; for example, if Team 1 failed to pick within the timer, Team 2 would get to pick a map, then Team 1 would pick the next map.

Once the map choice is locked in, players will have 90 seconds to ready up. The referee will start the match when all players are ready. If the 90 second timer ends, the referee will force an !mp start 15 command, and the match will start with whoever is in the lobby.

No Fail will be required on all maps.

In the case of a genuine disconnection, if the map result was ambiguous (uncertain), the map will be replayed. However, if the map was already clearly decided and there is substantial evidence of the fact, the referee may apply common sense to give the point to whoever would have won the map.

Teams must have at least 2 unique mod combinations. HR and HDHR are counted as the same mod combination for this purpose. Allowed mods are HD, HR, EZ, and FL. EZ has a multiplier of 1.75x. Additionally, 3 of your 4 players must take a mod.

BWS

Short for Badge Weighted Seeding, BWS is a tournament-minded seeding method intended to more accurately seed players and enforce rank restrictions based on the player's tournament badges.
In short, BWS artificially "ranks up" players based on the amount of badges they have.
In terms of how much a player ranks up per badge, each badge is worth more than the one before it.
More specifically, the formula is as follows:

The formula caps at rank 1. That is, a player can't go past rank 1.00 BWS (even if you were rank 2 it'd take like 30 badges to actually get rank 1.00 BWS).
Remember, BWS is not intended to reflect solo play skill. Read the first bullet point again.
Sample BWS rank values can be found on this spreadsheet.
As well as normal BWS, we will be allowing the use of badge appeals.
A player who has ranked past 55% of a badge's upper limit may appeal the badge, and disregard it in BWS by DMing a host. Players are responsible for providing the forum post for the tournament badge they are appealing. The host will not be responsible for finding forum posts.

The prize will be a badge (pending approval) for all the members of the winning team, as well as one month of supporter.
