Welcome back to the 4th iteration of the osu!catch 3 Digit World Cup!

Looking to compete in the osu!catch World Cup, but aren’t able to make it to the team? Here is your chance to compete in a world cup, except a world cup where only 3 digit players can partake.

Do you think you have what it takes to compete against all the other countries? Wait no more, start unboxing those fresh new keyboards and go wild to show what you can do to represent your country!

Common Questions
  1. If a country does not have enough players to join, we will group them up with neighbouring countries
    - Countries with the least players will take priority for which one you will be grouped with
  2. If your country has enough players to create a second team, we will allow you to create not one but two teams
    - Team captain will have to assign a new captain for this second team and they can select their roster
    - A maximum of 2 teams per country is allowed
  3. Games are played as a 3v3 with ScoreV2
  4. A team consists of at least 3 players, with a maximum of 6
  5. In order to participate, you have to be 3 digits until registrations end and screening is sent in, after that you can farm away
  6. The bracket stage will be double elimination
  7. Teams have 1 ban each.
  8. There will be a total of two converts in the Qualifier stage, one Nomod and one Doubletime.
  9. There will be a total of three converts in all other stages, one Nomod, one Doubletime and one Mixed mod.
  10. Badges that are older than 5 years will not count towards BWS.

General rules
  1. The score used in this tournament will be ScoreV2.
  2. NoFail will be used on every map
  3. Teams will be matched up through seeding from the Qualifier stage.
  4. The mappool of the Qualifiers will be played through twice.
    - Only the first playthrough is required, your team can opt-out of the second playthrough.
  5. If a team is 10 minutes late for a match, they will be disqualified for that match and lose by default.
  6. If a team does not contain enough players to play a match (3 players), the opposing team will win the match.
  7. Commentators aren't allowed to bad-mouth players at any time.
    - If one does, then please report this to Snowleopard or one of the other hosts.
In-game rules
  1. You are allowed to switch players in between maps.
  2. You cannot nullify a beatmap under any circumstance.
  3. A map can only be retried when something hindering happens (such as a disconnect) in the first 20 seconds of that map. This is only allowed once per match for each team.
  4. The rolling mechanic that decides who picks and bans in what order will be as follows: the winning team of a roll may decide whether they get first ban AND second pick, or ban second AND pick first.
  5. Always remember that this is just a game (i.e. behave yourself)
  6. If neither team has enough players to conduct the match a roll will be done to determine the match’s winner
Mod rules
  1. The qualifier mappool will consist of 3 NoMod, 2 Hidden, 2 HardRock, 3 Doubletime maps
  2. The mappools will consist of 3 NoMod, 2 Hidden, 2 HardRock, 3 DoubleTime, 3 Mixed Mod and 1 Tiebreaker maps
  3. The amount of maps per mod bracket will increase slightly in later stages
  4. The Tiebreaker will be played with either NoMod or Hidden. Any other mods are NOT allowed.
  5. When picking either DoubleTime or HardRock maps, you are allowed to pick Hidden alongside

  1. There will be 2 playthroughs
  2. All the maps will be played once, starting from NM1 - NM2 - NM3 - HD1, etc
  3. For the 2nd playthrough you are allowed to skip for example NM1 (the order will remain the same, see above), however if another team in your qualifier lobby wants to play this you are gonna have to wait for them to finish playing the map
  4. The highest score of both playthroughs will be used
  5. You will be playing in teams of 3 and are free to swap players in between each map
  6. Nofail will be used for all maps (this is for the whole tournament, not just Qualifiers)
  7. Hidden is allowed alongside Hardrock & Doubletime
  8. If your team fails to show up on time, your team is allowed to join part way through the lobby with a small penalty
    - Your team forfeits the 2nd playthrough for the maps that you have missed before.
    - Your team will still be allowed the 2nd playthrough for the maps that you have not missed.
  9. In between maps you have 1 minute to ready up, make sure to have the maps downloaded!

Date when the registration will be closed: 28/09/2024 (dd/mm/yyyy).
After this date we will send in all the users that signed up to get screened. This will take one to two weeks. Updates about this will go on Discord.

If we do not comply with this the tournament will not receive a badge.
See Tournament screening for more information.

Players will have to register individually and will be grouped up once the registrations have been closed.
After the registrations we will be appointing captains for each country and give them the list of players they can pick off. If a country does not have enough players to join, we will be allowing them to group up with neighbouring countries. This will also be mentioned in the message.

If your country has enough players to create a second team, we will allow you to create not one but two teams. The team captain will have to assign a new captain for this second team and they can select their roster. If this happens, it will be mentioned in the initial message we send you to create a team.

Note: You will have until 04/10/2024 to finalise your team (this date might change depending on how long screening takes). After this date the teams are finalised and will stay as is.

In order to register, visit the website, login and scroll down to sign yourself up.
Make sure to join the Discord server afterwards, this is a REQUIREMENT. This is so we can make sure we can easily make announcements.

As this tournament is a rank restricted tournament, you are only allowed to partake if your rank is in between 99 and 1000 (rank 99 and 1000 can’t partake, anything in between can).

Badge Weighting System (BWS)

We will be using BWS to calculate your rank. The following formula will be used:
BWS_rank = global_rank^(0.9937^(badges^2))
The badges that will be used for this calculation will only be badges relevant to osu!catch tournaments. If you have a badge from a spotlight for example, this will NOT count towards your BWS rank

Badges that are older than 5 years will not count towards BWS.

Example: Global rank #150 with 2 osu!catch tournament badges will have a BWS rank of #132

All of the dates can be found on the website. Those will be updated accordingly if anything changes.

  1. A profile badge (pending approval) - the design will be announced later.
