Finally finished working on this. Not disappointed in the results.
I don't really get how you can claim changing the opacity of two layers as "work", but i get what effect you're aiming for.
why not just try to use multiply on the hexagon pattern instead, and lower the opacity of it just a bit if the black is to sharp

And actually I intended the semi-opacity effect to give it a somewhat misty look, to go with the character of the picture.
Well it's a bit more than that. My laptop had a terrible resolution, so I needed to resize both pictures without losing any quality (so basic resizing would not have worked since the hexagonal background would've had a bad drop in quality.failboat wrote:
