Distance snaping? Anyone?

Does anyone using distance snap? If so, how exactly? When i am trying to use it i feel like its just messing with my map, but after snaping everything it kinda looks right i guess? I dunno, new to mapping so when i am trying to use something, like this it just get me more confused about what right and whats wrong. Thanks in advance for any responses!

Most mappers use distance snap in Hard diffs and below. For Insane and above, mappers typically don't use distance snap, but older maps (~2012-) will use it.

As a mapper, you should know when to change the distance spacing multiplier (as well as when to turn it off) depending on where in the song you are. For example, an inexperienced mapper may use distance snap throughout an entire [Hard], ignoring other concepts such as spacing emphasis.
